Game Thread: Knicks at Grizzlies

by Tommy Dee on March 12th, 2010 at 6:59 pm

Another opportunity to really scout an upcoming free agent. Give me your thoughts on Rudy Gay during the game.

To me, he’s had a great year. He’s worked very hard. 40 minutes per game, 47% from the field more FT attempts meaning he’s getting the basket more, which is ridiculously underrated and proves that he’s gotten stronger.

Take a look and give me your take on Rudy Gay tonight.

  • blackwood

Rudy is a real good player and if other options dry up and if he is asking for a reasonable number I would be all for it. He just has this max money thing in his head and no way that works IMO.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

if gay could take 7mil i would sign him he’s a good player to have..

  • BiggieSmalls

i would pay 10 mil for Rudy Gay
then I would then look to trade Chandler for a point guard or part of a larger deal (maybe to NoLA with Lee, Curry and Toney D for Chris Paul and Okefor)
Then you could give Camby 5 Lebron 16 and T Mac/House/Sergio can split 6

    does that work?

    Paul
    Gay
    Gallo
    Lebron
    Okefor/Camby

    TMac
    House
    Sergio
    Walker
    2nd Rounder
    2nd Rounder
    D Leaguyr

  • Knicks4life

Memphis would very likely match 10 mil for Gay.

I don’t even think that is a realistic option.

  • Knicks4life

If Memphis drafts a PG with their lottery pick next year they could be sick.

They should also look to sign a dead eye shooter to play on the wing. They did a nice job recovering from that Gasol trade.

  • DVJ

    Great plan.

    No joke..I love that idea.

  • DVJ

I don’t want any other PG to run our team going forward other than Rubio.

He is the answer moving forward.

    Kahn will break.

    Stay Patient My Friends.

  • CircleLimit4

I really like Rudy Gay and think he can be a second tier star in this league. but I’d rather have Chandler and Gallo on their rookie contracts than Gay at $12mil. Unless we moved Chandler for a nice PG, I’d let someone (Clippers) over pay for Gay.

But Gay would be a nice 2nd star for Wade if Lebron or Bosh weren’t available.

  • BiggieSmalls

I would even pay gay 12 and put gallo in that trade instead of Chandler

  • Hydr0

When the owner of the grizzlies was asked if he would pay rudy gay this summer he stated that he can’t pay anyone if the fans don’t show up to the games…the grizz rank 29th in avg attendence…it’s on hahns blog…so who know’s what they will match… maybe $10 million could do it

  • totti

    basically
if lebron says get bosh at max
    then i come
    ok a thousand times
if not please don’t max bosh nor jj
but spend wisely and be mean
    tough times are coming
and maybe melo a real max

  • Mucha

Biggie – How could you spend 26 mill on Gay and James – possible only if you renounce Lee’s rights – and then sign-and-trade Lee with Chandler etc??

  • Tissues

    Keep dreaming with that lineup

  • Mucha

The Pau Gasol trade wasn’t bad for the Grizzlies, they did it for a reason.

  • Mucha

Lol spend wisely? On what? Why do you assume that Melo will be available???

    I repeat :

    Chris Bosh 26 years old 5-time All-Star All-NBA player.
    Joe Johnson 29 years old 4-time All-Star.

If you can sign both Bosh and Johnson you DO IT. The Knicks need to win now, they can’t rebuild through the draft and the 2011 FA class is really poor! I think some of you guys love to see the Knicks lose!

  • blackwood

Solomon Alabi or Jarvis Varnado need to be draft targets!

  • HaS

Hey Tissues I’m still here! I haven’t been traded to another blog! I just got a contract extension! 8)

  • Knicks4life

    He can’t shoot.

  • HaS

“I don’t want any other PG to run our team going forward other than Rubio.”

An unproven, soft, slow, no jumpshot having point guard is the only point guard you want running your team?

OK, that’s not kool-aid anymore, what is that?!

  • CircleLimit4

Outside John Wall would is there a PG that would definitely be an upgrade over Conley? Who would they use the lottery pick on? Kalin Lucas?

They should get either a Gay or Randolph replacement, Favors, Wesley, Monroe or Robinson depending where the ping pong balls landed.

  • Hydr0

omg he wasn’t kidding…look at the upper deck when they shoot free throws…i think all the seats are empty

  • CircleLimit4

Yeah who knew Marc Gasol would turn out so well? At the time it looked like the Lakers committed highway robbery.

  • Tissues

Glad to see Donnie gave you an extension!

    In Donnie We Trust

    LOL

  • CircleLimit4

I agree on Bosh but Johnson is on the downside of his career. With so many teams with cap room, I think someone will offer Johnson max money. not worth it in my opinion. I’d rather the remaining cap be converted to young prospects and/or draft picks.

  • CircleLimit4

I agree with Varnado. In the 2nd round don’t get caught up with offensive production, take the defensive specialist with length and run with it. If he bulks up he can be a serious impact player in defense.

  • Knicks4life

Johnson is on the downside of his career?

    WTF?

  • Chris Alvino

The Knicks look horrible right now.

  • Knicks4life

Its so hard to predict who will be where in the 2nd round. Not sure how you can target anybody.

  • totti

bosh is a max only if functional to lbj
how many times have you seen raptors playing?

  • Knicks4life

How can you properly evaluate anybody, on our roster or on the other team, when the Knicks only play on one end of the floor?

    Where you been Alvino?

  • BiggieSmalls

llets see.. Now I have 2 think it thru??

Lees rights are 10.5 and I’m moving gallo (3.3) and TD (1) and curry of course (11.3) and taking back Cp3 (15) and oka(11.5)

    That works

and I’m giving up 4.3 so Its 6.2 added not 10.5

you’d have to do the nola trade before the gay:bron sign

don’t think u can afford camby tho

  • Hydr0

I’d be happy with Bosh and Johnson. We can’t throw away another year for a chance (a low one imo) for melo. No one else is really enticing in the 2011 summer as a free agent.

  • totti

    bosh only likes his stats
    like lee

  • blackwood

Hey tommy Remember me thinking we should of traded down and pick up a few late first rounders and saying Sam Young would be a steal? lol just asking lol

  • x-man

Amen! Peanut Brittle is hope for healthcare reform No more pre exisitng conditions.

Houston is smiling with delight over that trade!

  • CircleLimit4

Haha Wow. I’m sorry I have to say WTF in response. He’s nearly 30, man. You willing to bet his best years are ahead?

  • Knicks4life

He is not that much older than the other premier free agents and he hasn’t had to endure a full NBA schedule all those years because he played two seasons in college. He is barely older than Wade.

    Joe Johnson: June 29, 1981

    James: December 30, 1984
    Wade: January 17, 1982
    Bosh: March 24, 1984
    Kobe: August 23, 1978
    Dirk: June 19, 1978
    Ming: September 12, 1980

    And:
    Roy: July 23, 1984
    Melo: May 29, 1984

    So again WTF?

  • Chris Alvino

I’ve been working really long weeks since about early January. My days consist of waking up, going to work, coming home and going to sleep.

I’ll get back into the swing soon.

As to your question, I am just making a blanket statement that they look bad. I agree with you that it is tough to judge them with the cast and mindset that this team has now.

  • Knicks4life

I think Utah is smiling alot more . . .if anybody actually ever smiles in Utah.

  • ds2488

Wow, this is just ugly. What else would I expect? My thoughts:

    1. Tmac is just no where close to being an effective player right now. He makes some nice passes, but he makes many more bad ones, can’t shoot a lick, and can’t guard anyone on defense. I would really like to see them cut his minutes, maybe take some pressure off and allow him to gradually come back and try and blend in, rather than be the focal point of the offense which is just ridiculous.

    2. Gallo continues to not be able to shoot at all on the road. He just needs to post up(which he’s been doing), but no one will get him the ball so it doesn’t really mattter if he does or not. Chandler just looks lost and is not playing with the same focus he was earlier in the year. Douglas looks absolutely awful tonight. Forcing jumpers, having trouble with his dribble, and just not looking like he has a clue what to do out there.

    3. Al Harrington is still the worst team basketball player I have ever seen.

  • harris

Other than shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defending, tell me one thing this team doesn’t do well?.

  • HaS

Can we finally put to rest that this supporting cast is better than Cleveland’s?

  • harris

Oh come on now-that doesn’t matter. We’ve got Mike D’ who LeBron loves. You know he’s coming.

MSG is advertising that tonight on the Mike D’Antoni show, the coach will be “breaking down Chandler and Gallo”. Absolutely must see television.

  • DwaneT

Darko is high scorer for the T-Wolves midway through the third quarter. No reason, just thought I’d say it.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i just came in the house an i see this ass whooping
how much were the knicks down? 30+?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i’m rooting for the jazz to draft wall
i’m also rooting for the knicks to win the lottery when your playing like this
u mos def want the first pick an the messed up thing is they don’t care if the jazz get the first pick no heart or desire to win games.

  • blackwood

You guys still not sure about Gallo & Chandler for CP3? Unless you guys think TD and Sergio are our future PG tandem? lol just asking?

I switched over to watch the Thunder smack the nets and maaaan!! That team is going to be a problem in the playoffs!!

  • harris

Clyde said on television that “the body language just isn’t there tonight. It’s one of those nights”.

  • ds2488

Its not a question of people not wanting to do that on our side. Its a good trade, but Im not sure the Hornets would do that. Thats where the problem lies. The Thunder are very good, but the only team I see them beating in the 1st round is the Jazz.

  • Knicks4life

Hill has been playing well too.

But who cares it takes big men time to develop . . .when they are on the knicks.

  • Knicks4life

DS I have several Knick fans on record saying they would not trade Gallo for Chris Paul.

Yes that is correct. Gallo for Chris Paul would be a steal for the . . . Hornets.

  • Knicks4life

Seriously Eddie Curry can’t even get in during a blowout. Wasn’t he ready to play on Wed?

How can we showcase his fat a$$ in a trade this summer if he never plays.

  • ds2488

lol. Ok then. Forget about that last comment.

  • ds2488

If anyone’s still watching, that last play with Al Harrington on the break going up against 2 guys and getting the charge was awesome. Can someone explain why this guy is still playing?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

donnie just go out an get monta an ellis
draft varnado an lance from bk
an the knicks got a team..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lol
    ment to say
    cp3 an ellis

  • HaS

    _’antoni’s favorite.

Way to hold players accountable “coach”!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

that should of been an and1

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

doug is a keeper unless your getting monta or cp3 i’ll trade him

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

down 13 can they do it?
    lol

  • PipeDreamin

wait.. was he on the knicks?

  • ds2488

lol. I dont think we could do it if we were up 13 instead.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lol.
even up 13 i would still ask if they could do it.

  • Mucha

I thought it was a good trade for both teams.

  • bartnyk

We gotta buy a first rounder this year and pick up Paul George and a Center.

This team is awful the season has been a roller coaster one thing has remained constant the lack of toughness and competitiveness these guys are so soft all of them not just Lee.

How good is Evan Turner BTW better than John Wall ?? I’d say… Yes!

  • HaS

_’antoni’s MO is playing 6 guys and the 7th guy gets under 10 mins.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

doug in 2 3 years will be a very good player if he gets a coach that believes in him

  • ds2488

Damn you suck David lee. You know you are a softie when the opposing pg goes right at you and you are in position.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

walker is amped but it’s a lil to late

  • ds2488

Douglas will be a decent nba player at worse. He has too much quickness, athleticism, and toughness to not be. Walker is going nuts right now. Too little, too late. But impressive from him.

  • Knicks4life

I remember when Mardy Collins played well during blowouts and Knick fans used to scream that he was our PG of the future.

Douglas has no position. At best he will be a 7th man.

BTW at this point I wouldn’t even trade Gallo for D. Wade who is clearly past his prime.

  • Mucha

I really tried to understand your POV but I can’t.

    Outgoing :
    Capspace = $35.2 mill + Curry’s + Gallinari + Douglas = $50.8 mill

    Incoming : Gay$10+James$16+Paul$15+Okafor$11.5+Camby$5+TMac/House/Sergio$6 = $63.5 mil

    Something must be wrong.

  • x-man

Yep! Just think, I have my might Mets coming up on deck right after my Knicks take off for the Spring!

We’re gonnan win it all this year……really!

It’s a wonder I have any friends repeating this rant each year!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao at the last play

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    brick
    brick
    brick

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

havn’t been a mets fan since the subway world series
they need to get outta queens if they can’t rep it rite

  • ds2488

haha. I was reading that about Joe Johnson before and it didn’t make much sense. Maybe past his final year of the contract, but he’s too good of a player and he’s not that old anyway.

  • x-man

T-Mac is providing the leadership we so lack! Little do he know that LBJ has changed his phone # after watching the last several Knicks game.

As to your pt, that is why we needed to allow the youth to play much earlier int he season so we could see how they handle things when it counted.

This organziation has no viable plan… really!

  • Mucha

I think I understand what you’re trying to say but Camby/House/TMac/Rodriguez = Christmas pudding obviously…

Interesting stuff as always Big, I didn’t know Lee’s caphold could be traded.

  • Mucha

    Nevermind.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

can danni boy bench AL for the rest of the season an let doug an walker get his mins
please u already know what AL is
but u can see more of what doug an walker can also gallo aka back prob guy..

  • ds2488

Damn Gallo couldn’t shoot at all tonight. We would have won if he shot even decently. It would be nice if he tried posting up more, I don’t think he got the ball in the post once this game. He tried for a bunch of plays in the 2nd quarter, and no one got him the ball. He can’t give up though…he just slept through this game on the offensive end. Inexcusable.

  • pak14life

I hope Gallo gets traded for his own sake. This coach has no clue how to develop young players. he never had to in Phoenix. He is about to waste gallo and his talent by making him a three point shooter ala Kapono when he has shown he is more comfotable in the mid post. He already failed at developing jordan hill who hax played very well for the rockets.

  • x-man

Come on dude, We’re gonna win it this year…..bet the house on it! lol

You can’t speak about pain unless you experience it all year around!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

t-crak knees is done he knows an an houston knew it 2bad donnie didn’t
    lmao

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

if doug gets 30+ mins he can he a 20pt scorer with major D

  • pak14life

it doesnt help when the offensive set calls for u to go and stand in the corner. Mike for some reason refuses to run the offense through gallo in the mid post and only see’s him as a three point shooter. Go watch youtube vids of him in italy he is so much more than just a shooter.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

man i was a big mets fan but after the queens took another lost to the bx i had enuff.
i had to go thru the shan an krs

  • ds2488

I agree Pak, I would love to see the coach call plays to give it to Gallo in the post. I hate how the offense calls for them to spread out like that..it only helps David lee get his buckets.

  • x-man

So True but we need to give the coach 1 more year to prove that what we have seen of him the 7 years is just an aberration. lol

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

well if u look at his stats it has been on a the lower end
mayb he can pick it up in danni boy’s system

  • x-man

Come on dude, You have tostick with your teams no matter what. If anything, it surely helps you see the b.s and get better at expressing it!

It doesn’t help with winning any good arguments with your friends who are Yankee fans though! I come home bloodied each time trying to debate them with my Mets.

  • pak14life

he is a damn good coach but every coach has a weak point. I would be the last person to say that dantoni needs to go. Just player deveolpment is a weak point of his.

  • Qaspec

I think it’s funny that Boston traded House and Walker for Nate because they wanted more scoring in the second unit. Walker has energy, athleticism and is a really good finisher. He can handle and even gets hot from outside from time to time. At least the Knicks aren’t the only team that mis-evaluates it’s own players..

Walker could be the steal of the trade deadline trades. I think he could be just as good as Hill’s draft position says he could be. If Walker can at least match what Jordan does from here on out it takes some of the sting out of dealing Hill.

Thank goodness Nate was a BYC because the team lucked into that one. Donnie was willing to do the deal straight up for House. The BYC status accidentally kept this from just being a player dump for us.

  • x-man

Ok. I see! When as a coach your weak pt defies what a coach does, it’s not a problem?

That like saying a pilot is good at seating down in the cockpit, speaking over the intercom but he can’t read the gadgets or really fly the plane.

On this team, that what you say is a weakness should be our primary item we look for in a coach!

  • ds2488

Lol. Jerry Sloan just called a play for a 3 in the last 30 seconds with the Bucks up 2. They missed and now the Jazz announcers are questioning why he would do that. This sounds vaguely familiar…..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    dammnnn.lol.

the mets should be better if year if they stay healthy

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lol.
the bucks might upset som1 in the east this post season

  • pak14life

no our primary item we were looking for was the ability to bring in fa’s which i beleive mike will be able to do.

  • x-man

Yep, But Boston needed someone to backup Rondo who could score. they have enough forwards already. Boston is more structured while this coach just let players roam free and do what they want.

  • blackwood

Whats confusing me DS2488 is that at first your questioning weather they (N.O) may not do it and thats fair I have always said they could say no I just want the full effort to be made for him, But then theres an argument being made that some thing CP3 is not worth trading Gallo which boggles my mind!!

How Gallo is worth more then the best PG in the NBA is something I cant understand. I guess the argument is how do we replace those position players sign and trade Lee for depth and young players (I went in to that in detail on another post)

As a sports franchise when you have the chance to get the best position player in the game in any sports you do it! The best QB the best starting pitcher the best first baseman the best PG you do everything in your power to get that player!

As I said before by no means am I saying Gallo Chandler & EC expiering contract is an automatic but it is the very best trade we can offer and I can feel pride that my team tried to do the best thing weather or not they pull it off.

The “maybes” that Gallo gives you glimpses of are very enticing but the best PG in the game is just that the best PG in the game!!

But hey thats just my opinion guys I could be wrong but hey look how well N.O did against the nuggets even in a loss
look at the stats there back court showed up!! Again!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

danni boy was a good enuff coach with the suns but didn’t win jack with division titles.
now he is a terrible coach with the knicks.
overall he is a terrible coach other than the suns he hasn’t done jack

  • ds2488

Yeah man. They are tough I agree. I could really see them beating anyone. They have one of the top centers in the league and a bunch of solid role players who will do the dirty work. Good point. They can definitely upset somebody.

  • Qaspec

Watching Douglas play D, cause turnovers and push it up the floor excites me. I can live with his current rookie mistakes since they are from hard play and hustle. He will learn from them. I can only imagine how much he would have learned by now if he would have just been the backup point getting regular minutes from day 1. The kid was the only one on the team that didnt quit and his hustle inspired the others. Isn’t that what a point guard does?…lead the team by hustle, and determintation?

We fell short but I think we all saw that Douglas is a player. If the 2 superstar plan works (longshot) at least in my opinion the bench isn’t as thin as we thought it would be if Walker and Douglas are still here.

In my opinion Douglas should start the rest of the way. Sergio pushes the ball well but Douglas is the guy with a contract next year.

  • x-man

Not True! Our coach can’t bring in a Superstar. That’s on the GM. The coach’s job should be developing the current players we have, evaluating them to help the GM see what pirces should be here next year and etc.

Some of ya think just brinign in a Superstar alone wihotut anyone to play with will make us contenders. Als, why would a LBJ come here when he sees our coach has done anything with the telent already here. Do ya need superstars to play some defense or put in some accountability?

  • x-man

lmao! Yep, You can see him starting to return back to being the perimeter player. He’s trying to be on good behavior to get that contract but little Vince Carter keeps ruining it!

Our captains or leaders are on the bench! (Duhon, T-Mac)

  • pak14life

idk u might be rignt we will see in July. But what he did with phx was impressive. If it wasnt for some horrendous officiating in the phx-sa series he prolly wins a ring.

  • Qaspec

I don’t mean to hype Walker up after a handful for good performances but I think he’s already better than Tony Allen and Marquis Daniels. I think maybe Boston didn’t fully realize what they had. Alot of teams have a guy like that I guess.

  • x-man

Yep, All we need is our 1 pitcher Santana! We’re gonnan use the reverse Joba rules with him.

We will pitch him every other game and bat him 7th on his days off.

I can’t even get up the strength to get on the Mets blog sites to allow the Philly fans to light me up too!

One day when my Mets are good, I’m gonnna go ape s-h-i-t on those blogs. It’s coming my friend. it’s coming!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i think DOUG should also get 30+ mins.
he’s an overall guard that needs to learn up to set up his teammates

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    mos def.
wish the knicks had skiles as coach

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

marbury had his best season under skiles

  • x-man

Ooooooo lord! I see Mr. Kool-aid got to ya!

U obvious didn’t watch Tony PArker plaing speed racer going by Nash did ya? U obvious didn’t watch D’Antoni call those brillant plays at key moments of the game like he has done for us too.

PHX, had the 2-timne MVP plus so much talent and they never got out of the West.

Don Nelson Lite b-ball is extremely flawed. You new book report assignment is “Explain why 7SOL needs lot of LYSOL?”

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

conley is overrated it’s an average to below average p.g

  • blackwood

Mets baby!! lol Suffering is good for character lol

  • blackwood

I like Walker but he needs to really work on conditioning he looks a little out of shape and after a knee injury he wants to be as fit as he can.

  • blackwood

Dont forget a very good rookie PG lol

  • PipeDreamin

damn… i thought it was bad being a knick fan… at least i have the yankees to bring up my spirits. i cant imagine how bad it must be to be a knicks/mets fan… i’m so sorry man.

look on the bright side… i gotta buy orange a blue for basketball season and white and dark blue for baseball… at least you can wear the same colors for both seasons!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

don’t 4get yogurt who is having a great year

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    he does

  • Knicks4life

Mike D “developed” Barbosa, Marion, Diaw, Joe Johnson (who got no PT in Boston), and a host of other young players in PHX.

Chandler has developed a pretty good all-around game and Lee has become an all-star level offensive player.

I don’t know why you guys keep making excuses for Gallo who was awful again tonight.

I blame this coach for alot this season. Gallo’s getting the PT he is just not taking advantage of it.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

marion was a good player b4 danni boy got there

    diaw had 1 awesome year

  • Anandp1001

    I’m definitely seeing some positives as this year comes to a close; its hard to dismiss the games and disregard the play of most of these players, but its o.k. to do just that in this special case; all these guys, and these ‘bigs’ are gonna be gone. going forward, u gotta be pleased;
look at the 5 guys we’ll likely keep of the lot for next year, and notice that they have traits (that are still improving) that the knicks SORELY lack; toughness, athleticism, and defense. The asterisk while watching right now is their offense; its a whole different, and easier, story when youre playing alongside LeBron:

TD – awesome energy, defense, and speed. was the fastest player drafted last year and u see glimpses of it. also can finish at the cup and hit the 3ball, which will hopefully become better and more consistent. at least we see the potential in these areas.

Gallo – offense will get better with time; his age affects 2 things; his body is probably sore and tires easily at this point, and he has strength and explosiveness he has yet to grow into with that frame. gotta love that he can get to the cup, too. hopefully he improves his mid-range game some more. not at ALL worried about this future all-star. love the defense in all facets too; on the perimeter, blocking shots, and rebounding.

Wil – great at going to the cup, needs more veteran savvy on offense. can defend, block shots, run the floor… MUCH better to have on a cheap contract than rudy gay.

Walker – scrappy and tough, a great bench piece. we’ll keep him at an excellent price.

Eddy – i have nothing good to say here actually.. the weight loss teased us fans yet again, but lets just hope he can bring back 2 assets the way that Camby did (or the way TMac was valuable in his last year) Expiring contract!!

Extremely early and not really worthwhile, but nbadraft.net has Varnado and 3 centers (Art, Pittman, Jordan) among others landing in the 2nd round, as well as some guards (scottie reynolds, maaaaybe willie warren)
hopefully we can get some steals

TD, Gallo, Wil, Walker, and Eddy are the only ppl even worth discussing IMO; if theres a chance for bosh, Lee has got to be let go (although Lee might be a better option for the money over booze or amare,, havent thought that out yet)

I guess the only things you need to ask yourself going into next year are these:

TD – is he a startable PG on a contender next year, next to Bron and Bosh?

Gallo – is he a decent 2a scoring option on a contending team with bron and bosh?

Chandler and Walker seem like safe propositions, with little left to question at this point for a floor value. Upside depends and could be pretty high with a playmaker to take advantage of their athleticism and in-close-finishing ability.

Eddy has enormous trade potential to bring back at least 2 rotation players, a starter included at the 5 hopefully.

I really think that with Bron and Bosh, the Knicks could go from This defensive team, to a top 5 unit next year. Gallo, TD, and Chandler are better defenders than we are seeing due to big Al and Lee having no big man skills to alter shots, keep a big off the block and stick em 1v1, and even to competently stay on a man instead of forcing switches out of laziness

The other free agents have absolutely nothing to do with it. If you’re going to give a player a 5 year max contract there’s a HUGE difference between 26 and 29.

    Again I respond, WTF?
