That was really something else to watch. Major props to both players..They really put on a show last night that will be remembered. That was just so much fun to watch.

    and so is Douglas

A very entertaining matchup in the game within the game. Hard not to feel Gallo’s just going to get better in the coming years, especially when he gets stronger and more adept at the posting up and inside game.

Great second half by Toney Douglas, too.

That was an incredible 3rd quarter. They were matching eachother shot for shot. Gallo really stepped his game up.

I do think a little bit too much is being made of Gallo’s defense on Melo. It was nice to see him making an effort, but Melo was pretty much scoring at will. He is a decent defender who puts in a nice effort, but he still has a lot of flaws on the defensive end. He definitely tries though so I’m sure he is going to get better.

I absolutely love the way Douglas plays. He has no fear or hesitation when it comes to taking shots at the end of games. Gallo is the same way. Those kind of players are important on winning teams. Gallo and Douglas should get a lot of open looks next year if we get a couple super stars. If Douglas can work on his passing, and Gallo can concentrate on making his shot more consistant, they shoud both have big seasons next year.

Melo is my fave I’d rather have him instead of LeBron. BUT I was proud of Gallo taking the challenge going mano mano displaying the heart and grit I havent seen since Starks (well N8 displayed fire also).

I like that Toney D has ice in his veins but he still must smarten up. Bill Walker must work on his drives to the hoop and learned to slide his feet and stop reaching. Giddens I like his energy, his jumper needs work and handle but I like him

I taped the game and my DVR went of with 1:00 and some change man I was chapped I turned to the NBA Stat channel and saw the final score, I was glad we didnt give this one away ala the Houston game.

I was listening to McHale and Webber and how they called the team selfish, one pass and shoot or no pass and shoot. Also they made it seem like D Lee in a traditional system that he wouldnt have his numbers?Although Nash was MVP and had many assist wit Phoenix, did the Suns move the ball around or was Nash the ball dominator?

I was glad to see TMac attack the rim for an attempted dunk, I really want him around next season for vet minimum, hope he complys with that.

    Good win guys, thanks

I agree, he couldn’t stop Melo but that’s what you’d expect from a 21 year old player. The fact that he wanted to guard Melo is remarkable regardless.

Not many stop Melo. Gallo accepted the challenge and although Melo score 36, Gallo was right in his face making it tough. Fact that Melo made it a point to say that he is watching Gallo from a far speaks volumes. He thinks Gallo is getting really good which is more than good enough for me. Melo said it best… ” A lot of people turned their backs on him but he’s turned ig on big time.”

When Gallo gets stronger, put him on the blocks and then watch his game really flourish. Right now he’s found a little crack in the door, he’s starting to figure things out. With that J and post moves he’ll be one he’ll of a player!!

    That’s called player development.
Be careful what you say around here, some people think D’Antoni doesn’t develop his young players.

David Lee said it best on NBAtv. Talking about Gallo wanting to step up and defend the best scorer on the other team, he said sometimes you’re gonna get your butt kicked. but that’s the best way to learn. to put yourself out these against the best and learn from your mistakes. and he’s lucky to have that opportunity.

…uh oh, is that a sign of good coaching from Mike? Using this time of the season to let his player develop his defensive ability?

  • oscar f

He doesn’t . People give head coaches too mucj\h credit in that dept. Its actually the assitants and the players actually playing that develops them combined with thier own hard work.

To Tommy:please no matter what the madia and the fans say about Hill don’t write anything else about him . Im sick of that topic . He is not a knick and probably never will be again. Thank You!
