Donnie Walsh Speaks to BT: Part 1

This was from Thursday, I believe, but still a really good listen….

I listened to both parts of the interview, and he says he regretted trading Hill even before he did it. He also said that he knew he wasn’t gonna be here long enough to rebuild through the draft, and that’s why he cleaned house and started from scratch with FA’s. You gotta love this guys honesty. I’m still not sold on the “stars will come ’cause it’s NY” thing, but I respect him for trying it a little more after hearing him out in the middle of the crash and burn.

The only encouraging aspect of this interview was that he said he won’t overpay for second tier FAs.

So that means that when Lebron stays with Cavs, Wade either stays with Miami or goes to Chicago, and Bosh either stays with the Raptors or goes to Miami, the Knicks aren’t going to overpay for Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay. Let’s just hope he’s not FOS.

So it looks like the Knicks will resign Lee, add Camby or another defensive C and probably retain T-MAC and look forward to 2011. lol
