Game Thread: Knicks at Blazers

Camby is still good but he would be just a temporary solution to that 5 spot. The knicks need a young guy that will be good for a while otherwise they would be building like the Cavs. Camby on the team to me means the knicks can’t get Bosh and wants to team Camby up with Lee because if hypothetically the Knicks land Bosh and LBJ the front court would be Bosh, Lebron and Gallo so why would they need old man Camby. The knicks can lure Lebron if they bring in a young nucleus.

i like a camby signing at the right price if it accompanies a wingman and a bosh/amare/ty thomas …. play lbj /gay/ or whoever we get at the 2 and let gallo play the 3 while he bulks up another season or two .. then he can move to the 4 and move whoever we have at 4 to the 5 when camby moves on…

In other words the only reason the knicks would need Camby is if Bosh, or Amare wont come and the only reason that would happen is if Lebron wont come . If the knicks pair Camby with Lee the the 2nd major signing would be Gay. If every thing goes wrong(and it shouldn’t) the 5 would be :

They wouldn’t even be able to lure Joe with a front court of Lee and Camby despite camby still playing on a high level and Lee as an all-star.

The coache’s prefernce wouldn’t be to pair Camby with another big like Bosh or Amare. It doesn’t fit his system ideally. I wouldn’t mind a traditional front court like that either but Im sure that wont happen . Gallo is playing the 4 now and that is probably the plan going foward.

if you pay Camby that and sign a max player then you can’t sign a second tier star like Bosh, Amare, or even Lee.

sadly enough if Gallo makes strides next season that lineup could be in the eastern finals lol.

but i was thinking more along the lines of signing LBJ + bosh/amare, perfect scenario … but then i guess the cap room wouldnt be there for camby …
sign and trade maybe chandler to portland for Camby and a first rounder?

Al Harrington is still the worst basketball player ever. He can’t pass, he jogs back on d every play, doesn’t box out, he just scores.

Gallo is a joke again tonight. Does he realize when he has Camby on him that maybe he should drive? Or when his shot isn’t falling maybe he should drive? Complete lack of fire on offense.

This game is just crazy. No one is trying on d or switching and rotating on picks. The offense looks like a pickup game offense..everyone’s just doing their own thing and their’s not continuity.

Another awful coaching job by Dantoni. What a joke. I can’t wait to never see any of these guys play again with the exception of Gallo and Douglas. Maybe Sergio. Im beginning to sour on Walker too…he doesn’t really play d and just doesn’t really look like he knows what he’s doing. But that goes for the whole team…What a well-oiled machine Dantoni runs haha.

Tmac is awful right now. Its such bad coaching and offense to just have everyone stand around and watch him. Im not sure the Knicks have run a play tonight that isn’t just some type of iso. Offensive genius Mike Dantoni calling brilliant plays.

Al Harrington has gotten beat on like 10 backdoor plays. He is so bad.

I turn to the Warriors game and it’s the same thing. Not a good look for the Knicks heading there if they lose tonight in a blowout, they’ll be looking to bounce back in a big way at home. Knicks will be down by 20 at the half on Friday.

We hired Donnie 2 years ago and the whole time, the plan was for 2010…well guess what? It’s here…..

Once this season ends, then it will be time to judge Donnie and D’Antoni different. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. This is why we hired them in the first place.

Me too PipeDream.. first time all year i couldn’t stand to watch anymore. This was as low as you could go in terms of effort, and absolutely NO pride from anyone.
There was a point in the 1st (or was it early 2nd?) quarter when MDA decided to trot out a lineup of:
Sergio, House, Giddens, Walker, Harrington.
I have no further comment here about MDA or the current Knicks.
And that Darko line.. Super infuriating. Not sure why the hell B. Cardinal isn’t earning his damn money with the knicks right now either, we could have used either Cardinal or Darko tonight to actually BOX OUT.

LOL, thats hilarious. I would love to have Marcus Camby back i loved his game when he was here the 1st time. he plays defense and blocks a load of shots. I would love Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay coming here. starting 5, T.D., Joe Johnson, Gallo, Gay, Camby. that plus some complimentary parts can be a team that takes us to eastern conference finals. the next year we get a major point guard and we are set for years to come.
