Don’t look now but the Knicks have won two straight and head into Indiana with the chance to make it the hat trick.

The Pacers just blew out the Rockets over the weekend and are close to calling up former Arizona Wildcat Marcus Williams (not the former U-Conn Star)

As you’ve probably heard, the Knicks announced that Al Harrington has decided on season-ending surgery:

“…Knicks forward Al Harrington will have arthroscopic right shoulder surgery tomorrow, performed by team orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen. Recovery time is expected to be 3-4 months…”

And according to Alan Hahn, Tracy McGrady will play.

“…Tracy McGrady back in the lineup tonight. He and Chris Duhon start in the backcourt. Toney Douglas will continue to come off the bench…”

  • BiggieSmalls

looks like he is giving duhon a chance to earn a contact next year..

    hope it isnt here.

  • Anandp1001

I guess since hes still getting a ton of burn its not affecting his development, but still pretty annoying to see the kid pulled after working hard and playing well (as opposed to duhon who did everything in his power to acquire one of those courtside seats)

no to Duhon; id rather take one of the best defensive NBDL point guards next year on a min contract

  • HaS

Hibbert looks a lot more nimble and mobile, what happened to him?

He seemed a lot more lumbering the last time I saw him.

  • HaS

Why is that every time Gallinari dunks he swings his legs up into the air?

He never seems to get a technical for some reason though.

  • LBJ2010

He went to the Chucketts school of dunking.

  • Mucha

    “hope it isnt here”

Suicidal thoughs, man I’m ready to die!

  • ds2488

Tmac is just plain awful. He just stays behind the arc and chucks shots he has no chance of making, and plays some of the worst defense I have ever seen. I still think the guy can be decent given a full offseason to get healthy, but right now he is just not remotely decent at all.

  • bb_dot

wtf! you rally back from 20 to make it a 2-point game and then in two minutes it’sback to 13 points..
why can’t we close the quarters??

  • HaS

    “Coaching”?

  • bb_dot

    exactly!!

  • HaS

72 pts in the half says it all.

  • Mucha

Just when you thought Duhon was going to make a lay-up…

  • bb_dot

mind-numbing. the only thing I have to say that has truly improved is that they keep fighting back. The teams of the last few years would just fold up and pack in. these guys don’t go away… (silver lining..)

  • ds2488

LOL at Tmac’s statline. He misses his ninja turtle pal. Its as good a way as any to pay tribute to him, although he has to have much less assists. But 4 pts on 12 shots is a good start.

  • bb_dot

ok. I am going to say it. I think Duhon is not bad as a backup. If I have an improved TD next season, I prefer Duhon over Sergio as a backup. He has better control, court vision and d than Sergio. Duhon just simply cannot play more than 15-20 minutes and he cannot “lead” a team. But if others do that, he is not terrible…. just my opinion.

  • Mucha

Duhon at the minimum is a bargain.

  • ds2488

Gallo’s playing really well right now. Like usual, they should be giving him the ball more when he’s playing like this.

Sergio, like usual, just plays completely out of control. And Doug just took a horrible shot. Pgs need to do a better job of setting up the offense.

  • bb_dot

I mean, just now Sergio comes in, two bonehead plays and momentum shifts. Thank god TD hit that 3…

  • Mucha

I like Walker but he commits too many STUPID fouls.

  • ds2488

Refs really aren’t helping tonight. Some really questionable calls. Terrible.

  • Mucha

    Wtf great shot selection.

  • bb_dot

yep. that “foul” on Barron was a joke…

  • Mucha

    Sergio is a scrub, period.

LMAO I always shake my head when he dribbles the ball in the paint and ultimately commits a turnover because he’s surrounded by 4 opposing players.

  • Knicks4life

“Duhon at the minimum is a bargain”

    WTF?

  • Hustle

Oh what the hell, I leave the game for a bit to check on the yankees, and when I come back a tie game is now a 7 pt lead for the pacers…

  • Knicks4life

Earl Barron was a very good find. Exactly what this team needed all year.

  • Knicks4life

Rush just dunked on Lee who tried to hide under the basket.

  • Mucha

Terrible defense in the 4th quarter.

  • Mucha

    $400’000.

3rd point guard on the roster.

  • ds2488

lee is terrible on defense. he never rotates properly along with being afraid of contesting shots. miserable defense the whole quarter. To Let Brandon Rush do what he is doing is inexcusable. Just make the guy shoot.

  • Knicks4life

He has been beyond awful all season. I want him and Curry gone as soon as humanly possible.

You must have forgotten the missed layups, terrible defense, slowing down of every possible fast break and just awful shooting. No Duhon, no way no how.

  • Mucha

Gallinari struggled against Granger – he really played great defense on Gallo in the 4th quarter. The Knicks lack of defense + lack of size (I really can’t understand why Douglas and Rodriguez were both playing in the 4th) killed us. By the way I can understand why this team is 3-0 sans T-Mac. He doesn’t even play defense.

I didn’t expect them to win tonight so… whatever.

  • Mucha

lol maybe I’m being too generous.

I might reconsider my statement lol.

  • bb_dot

none of that is forgotten, K4L. All I’m saying is that all those things dont seem to happen if he only plays limited minutes as a backup. In fact, I thought that both today and yesterday he was clearly better than Sergio.

  • LBJ2010

Can’t stomach watching Lee anymore. Please let these be his last 4 games here.

  • ds2488

Correct Mucha, Tmac is just really bad on both ends of the floor. It is really easy to see how and why the Knicks are 3-0 without him and terrible with him. The rockets knew what they were doing when they banished him..Not as if our situations are comparable though. He can’t guard anyone, can’t rotate to help out, and can’t do anything on offense when he decides to be a perimeter player. His shot is disgusting too, get some air under that thing!

Gallo was great in the 3rd, maybe Granger shut him out, maybe his own team shut him out. It tends to be a mixture in every game. They have to give him more touches and more shots..He had the most points on the team with one of the lowest amounts of shots.

Lee sucks. I can’t wait to be rid of him. Just check out his +- for the game, and really for the season. Definition of empty stats when he just gives everything right back on defense and more. Terrible.

  • Mucha

Nah Gallo got enough touches in the 4th but he couldn’t create his own shot – Granger was awesome defensively. The Knicks should set more screens for Gallo but he just couldn’t do anything when Granger was guarding him (in the 4th). I can’t blame the team on this one.

  • ds2488

I don’t know..I counted maybe 2 or 3 possessions where he tried to do something with the ball and couldn’t because of Granger. But they also weren’t even setting picks for him when he had it..Just leaving him alone. He needed to get up more than 10 shots tonight though, especially when Tmac is sucking like that and pretty much everyone else too.

In July I will make my declaration as a trader to the Knick nation.

As long as D’Assholi is coach I will not watch the Knicks.

Unless Lebron and another star comes here and we make some amazing trades and signings this team cannot be anything more, than at best fighting for a last seed, at worst the same crap we have.

All I know is that when players come here they DO NOT get better. The first sign of a superior coach is putting players in positions to succeed, not fail. That can be viewed as the player getting better. But some also do respond to better teaching and motivation to work on their skills and techniques. It’s called pride and a good leader can instill pride in a group of men if he is truly a good leader. I have seen this in my lifetime.

So judging by what I have seen in 2 years Dassholi rates a zero as a coach. He’s not even a very good X and O man, nor strategist. I have also watched coaches like Doc Rivers who is a mediocre coach but very knowledge and was blessed with the BIG THREE, without them he’s showing that indeed he is a mediocre coach.

I hope to be around when D’assholi is gone and Walsh is gone and maybe our coach will be Ewing. Hopefully someone running the show with some sense who uses the draft to build a core then trades player who do not fit and signs free agents to round out the team so that there is holes filled and chemistry among the team, a winning attitude and work ethic. When that happens I will return, but this is just too many years of this crap and I have lost any emotional attachment, I want a divorce.

I warned ya about little Vince Carter from day 1. This is what T-Mac does and what makes a him and Vince Carter NEVER winners in the post season. When the game is on the line, you can find him and Vince Carter behind the 3 pt line.

  • x-man

Doc hasn’t moved to the elite coaching status yet but he did a decent job in Orlando and he has done a good job in Boston. Yet, he surely has some more growth to do. At east Doc won a ring and our coach couldn’t win a ring with great talent in PHX and a two time MVP. He couldn’t even get to the finals which makes Nash’s feat of being a 2 time VP and not sniffing a ring or a finals more pronounced!

This coach just sucks! Fire this coach now! We can’t move forward until he moves out!

A “trader” is someone who exchanges one good for another (trading). I believe you mean a “traitor”. It’s okay go jump on the Brooklyn Bandwagons, and bail on the Knicks. Once again, talk to Cubs and BoSox fans and ask if they ever bailed.

  • bob go knicks

you have seen duhon play for 2 years and you still want him?Dont make that mistake again!

  • bob go knicks

    fuck the yankees(anothr money team)

  • bob go knicks

there is a guy who comes into my bar,his name “VINNY the FIXER” if you want i could ask him to talk to David………..you wont see him no more

  • ARNY

    yankee hater ^ Boo who…

  • x-man

lol All this time you had a guy and you didn’t give him a job for D’Antoni or Isiah years ago?

  • Aussie Gary

And when you leave, Big Daddy, they’ll be one less negative person on this blog. To say that players have not gotten better is a load of crap. Gallo has certainly improved. Chandler continued to improve, but is unfortunately injured. D’Antoni brought a #29 pick (Douglas) along this season and he is now a contributor and part of our future. No he wasn’t thrown into games earlier in the season because he wasn’t ready for it. But he obviously learned a lot on the bench and in practice. D’Antoni did well with what he had this year. Next year he should have a stronger lineup.

You childishly continue to refer to our coach as “D’Assholi”. I watched the Denver game over here (several times, as we finally got a Knicks game). Anthony was interviewed and said coach D’Antoni was a great coach and very knowledgeable. Joe Johnson recently said the same thing. You don’t get to coach at NBA level if you’re a no hoper. That’s why you’re not coaching and D’Antoni is. He’s got it and you haven’t got it. So pack your bags, take your continual tirade of complaints with you and don’t let the door hit in the ass on the way out.
