the last minute or so are offensive plays..

    But nice piece overall..

Goes to my point that you really dont have to be a superior athlete to play defense. Just have to want to put in the effort and move your feet.

I loved Schrempf, and I love this kid. He is going to be great. Maybe not all-time great, but great. Blocks shots with either hand on the move. Sets up charges on the move. When players think about going to a defender’s weak side/weakness, they think about those things. As a defender, If you can make a guy think about what he can get away with rather than what he can do, you make him play defense against himself starting in the video room. He may adapt, but his teammates won’t be able to adjust… and team flow is thrown off. And Gallo KNOWS he’s the sh*t, and that attitude makes his opponent more likely to press when they should pass.

I love good technical defense, and I love this kid.

Gallo has been my favorite knick this year by far. He has swagger to his game. I see him as more of a Rashad Lewis if he works on his post game and gets a little stronger and I am sure he will since he wants to be considered a top player. He will be a better defender than Lewis though which IMO makes him the perfect 4 in D’antoni’s system.

yeah i added a few offensive highlights at the end as it was mostly for the voiceover of mike breen explaining gallos actions
the last dunk over hibbert was just a bonus hehee

Great video. He really does a fantastic job drawing charges. Luckily, he seems to be of the tougher European variety, in a Ginobli-Detlef type of way(I know Ginobli technically isn’t European). Very nice charges and good timing on blocks. Like Biggie said, it just goes to show how anyone can play at least decent defense when they put the effort in on the floor and also off it by watching video and preparing.

I also love that Gallo knows what he is doing. He is a true student of the game.

Gallo will be better than Rashard Lewis.

Gallo has more drive and ambition, and that will make him more successful. Lewis is terrible defender and an underwhelming rebounder. He’s turning into Rasheed Wallace.

Well Lewis is already 30-31 years old – and I’d say that he has an older body considering that he made the jump from high-school directly to the NBA.

Lewis was NICE with the Sonics – if Gallinari reaches his level and plays better defense I’ll be VERY VERY happy.
