Dudley Wins GOP Gubernatorial Primary in Oregon

by Tommy Dee on May 19th, 2010 at 1:10 pm

Former Knick and Yale graduate Chris Dudley earned a victory in the Oregon primary.

“…Make no mistake: Oregon is governable,” Dudley said, getting his biggest cheer of the evening when he referred to Kitzhaber’s infamous remark near the end of the Democrat’s last gubernatorial term that Oregon was ungovernable. “Eight years ago, when Oregon was in recession and desperately needed a leader, John Kitzhaber said that Oregon couldn’t be led, that the state he was elected to serve was ungovernable. I disagree.”

Dudley went on: “As your governor, I will never throw in the towel and I will never quit on Oregon, because I know you won’t either. Together, Oregon won’t be ungovernable; we’ll be unstoppable…”

He’s no push over…

    Congrats Chris!!

Hopefully he is a better governor than free-throw shooter…

    lol

I remember in the finals against the Spurs, Camby got hurt… guess who had to come in and shoot the free throws for him. Literally added insult to injury.

    ummm c’mon Tommy…lol, who really cares…

    congrats…lol
now that the lottery is over and the draft positions are set….can we talk some potential draft picks…

my top 3 second round picks for the knicks are:
    Brooklyn’s own Lance Stephenson
    7ft Jerome Jordan
Jordan “if lebron can’t beat him join him” Crawford

    honorable mentions:
    Dominique Jones
    Jerome Randle
    Greivis Vasquez
Brian Zoubek(we alllll know how much Mike loves Duke players, lol)
sharron collins(not the biggest fan of him)

    long shots:
    eric bledsoe
    willie warren
    avery bradley
DOUBT THEY’LL DROP OUT OF THE FIRST, BUT POSSIBLE…

  • TG

A moron with no game. He’ll fit right in with the rest of Republican party.

If Bledsoe is still on the board at the end of the first Dolan better be sitting there checkbook in hand ready to pay the Nets whatever they want for that pick. #38 and cash for Bledsoe? Too bad Bledsoe is probably the next guard gone after Wall and Turner, this is of course pre-workouts and teams fall in love with guys, sometimes for no apparent reason after workouts. With David Kahn and a top 5 pick you just never know what’s going to happen. Is it safe to say Kahn is the Al Davis of the basketball world when it comes to drafts? I mean if you’re going to build a team and then bring in a coach to make the most of their abilities, why bring in a guy that doesn’t do that?

  • Big Blue St3

And after the Jennings debacle I doubt DW passes on a guy just because of “character” issues ever again, but Stephenson has shown to be a streaky shooter, with bad shot selection and limited range. Can he accept being a role player and play within a system? Can he add that consistent mid range jumper to his ability to drive? That’s all we need is another guy who takes bad shots every chance he gets, I think we all saw enough of that this year.

I think Jerome Jordan’s workouts go a long way to determining where he falls, wouldn’t be mad if we picked him and one of Torrance, Randle, Vazquez up.

lol, def agree w/ that Khan statement, and it’s pretty crazzy, all the mock drafts i’ve been reading has minny drafting cousins…lol..wtf??? where does he fit in w/ jefferson and love???

what are they going to have all pgs and centers on their team…lol..

AND YEA I’VE SEEN A COUPLE MOCKS W/ BLEDSOE FALLING OUT OF THE FIRST….idk how that’s possible, they have bradley ova him in a lot of them…

and w/ stephensen, his shot selection and mid range i think improved a lot from high school, he looked more like a team player at cinci, i think that was the biggest thing he needed to work on…NOT THINKING HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE COURT…LOL…i think if we get a lebron, him and walker will learn a lot from bron…..

  • ARNY

I actually remember that game when dudley got up and threw the ball at shaq , if i’m not mistaken i think the ball actually hit shaq either on the back of the head , or directly on his back.. either way , classic moment.. remember the garden chants , ” we want dudley ” …lol

  • BASEline LANEdrive

it was soo funny… what happened was Shaq dunked on Dudley landed right in front of him and shoved him back.. Dudley got mad and threw the ball at shaq… lol.

As clumsy as he was, he was pretty tough.

Crazier things have happened, weren’t Manu and Monta both 2nd rounders? Maybe Bledsoe slacks in workouts thinking he is the next best guard and gets passed over. I think the Nets drafting Wes Johnson would be the greatest thing in the world because I would love to see what Kahn does then. Knowing there is are more then a few talented PF’s that could fit well next to Lopez (Lee, Bosh, Boozer) taking a talented young wing like Johnson who is a projected top 5 pick anyways wouldn’t be crazy.

It would just crack me up if Favors / Cousins and Monroe are the best players left on the board when Kahn comes up.

I would love to hear the argument of how he’s going to hold on to Cousins, Love and Jefferson and deal from a position of leverage.

Good luck with those sign and trades, not only do you need stuff to trade, but you need a guy who’s willing to go to Minnesota…good luck with that.

    Awesome Dunk : )
