@TommyDeeTKB: obvious question, if Ainge isn't high on Thibs enough to consider promoting him to replace Doc if he leaves, then why are the Bulls?

    Um… obvious answer, because Doc is doing a great job as of right now and Ainge thinks pretty highly of Rivers?

    Wasn’t the question….Woj said on twitter that if Rivers leaves Thibs isn’t the leading candidate to replace him. I found that interesting.

    I seriously doubt Rivers is leaving though, where is he going?

    Odd? why? there have been rumors rivers wants to take hiatus. Why would ainge mess with anything and just promote Thibs?

    Oh I see.

    Well a hiatus maybe, I thought the question cam out of Rivers wanting to move onto another gig or to just simply jump ship before all the players get old.

    I still don’t think he leaves unless he or his family are having some sort of health issues, otherwise what coach leaves his team after a Finals appearance with a realistic chance at winning the whole thing?

    The rumors was Rivers was pondering retirement to spend more time w/ his family, since all his kids are getting older and about to all be in college or have graduated….he has a son now that’s about to attend florida, and is suppose to be the best of alll the rivers’ kids…..

    personally I don’t see Boston passing on Tom as the successor, nor do I even see Ainge even having a list of replacements….cause he’s been begging Doc all season to come back….

    i’m sure if doc does retire Tom will be on the top of their list…..or they’ll be pullling a Ravens’ Rex Ryan move….not promoting the best defensive mind in the league and letting him walk to a rival…..

    i’m sure doc will push ainge to hire Tom if he does step down…..
