Is there any way to go above the cap this summer, or is that only possible when re-signing your own free-agents or in trades??? Because I’m sure Dolan would have nooo problem paying the luxury tax next summer to have a playoff team on the floor.
btw, good to see Jason Thompson’s little brother Ryan getting a work out, although I don’t see him making the NBA anytime soon….
Just FYI with all of the hype around LeBron James’ impending free agency, the Mayor’s office in NYC just unveiled their new “C’MON LEBRON” campaign looking to bring LeBron to NYC.
Below is the link to the video Mayor Bloomberg put together, wanted to give you a heads up as to what our city is doing with hopes of luring The King to the Big Apple. Would love if you could post the video.
Zoubek is a guy to watch, he could fit in as a reserve. The guy has size, crashes the boards, contends shots, finishes around the basket and can pass out of the high post, he’s a smart player. The downside is that he’s slow and not a good shooter.
@Shakespeare why would you be asking about going over the cap?? Isn’t that what got us in this 10yr long mess?… Team can make playoffs without going over the cap
i’m asking in the case we sign 2max players, and still have 4-5 roster spots available but don’t have much $ left, can we sign vets like ray allen…even if it puts us over the cap….
and signing vets for one year isn’t what got us in this 10yr long mess….it’s the trading of expiring for long-term contracts, and signing free agents like heavy curry and jerome james a million dollars a game…lol…
the last draft prospect to talk was LeMoyne’s center who was an all american at the Division 2 level Lawrence Ekperigin. I myself, played against him during college as we were both in the highly competitive Northeast 10 conference. He averaged 21 and 12 for his collegiate career while at LeMoyne. I played at Pace University in Westchester County. Lawrence went to high school at a school in Westchester County.
Tommy Dee has watched every Knick game since 1988, it's a record that he holds close to his heart, and with apologies to Cal Ripken, believes this is one heck of a streak.
He feels the team needs: perimeter defense, an attitude adjustment, to remove all position-confused guards, someone to protect the rim, and players who respect the jersey.
He also feels basketball is the greatest gift the city has given to its people and can't wait for the day a playoff win actually takes place in the Garden.

Neither do I but he def could RT @DinoNYK: @TommyDeeTKB any chance knicks keep gallo and get melo? I dont see him surviving till free agency 2 days ago
No, I wouldn't. Again, i think Melo isn't bluffing about becoming a free agent. could be wrong tho. RT @HankKnight Would you do that trade? 2 days ago
I would say yes absolutely. RT @Dnussbaum: @TommyDeeTKB Do the Knicks get Melo if the give up Gallo, AR, Curry and a first? 2 days ago
not this one. RT @HPbasketball I write a Knicks piece on how awesome they are. Knicks fans think I'm hating. sigh. 2 days ago
I’m very curious to know how Jeremy Lin did. That kid deserves to be on an NBA roster.
+1

Once we’re at the cap, we can only go over it to sign players at the Veteran Minimum, rookies, or D-Leaguers I think.
