Nets Trade Yi

Via ESPN:

The New Jersey Nets will trade Yi Jianlian and $3 million to the Washington Wizards for Quinton Ross and the Wizards’ trade exception, a league source said.

The deal will be completed on Monday, the source said.

The move will allow the Nets to clear another $3 million in cap space to spend on free agency this summer.

Yi is scheduled to make $4 million next season. Ross is set to make $1.1 million. The Nets should now have roughly $30 million in cap space to spend after the move, according to the source.”

    He would do these trades to add on salary to a rebuilding team but probably wouldn’t trade a 2nd pick for Curry, Chandler, Gallo, and 2 first rounders if we had them.

    So aside from Brook Lopez, Devin Harris, Courtney Lee and the rookie Derrick Favors…..what do the Nets really have? Doesn’t sound like they got a bench…neither does Chicago. So that dumb argument that ESPN keeps saying how the Knicks have no players in a way goes for Chicago and NJ as well.

    ALRIGHT THAT makes TWO absurd trades by the WIZards. Wow Ernie does not like the knicks hahahaha. Once again the Knicks bad dealings with former employees will end up screwing them. Now if the Wizards some how work out a trade for HArris Even when they HAve both WALL and Gilbert that FIx is in haha I believe the NEts could find an offer for Harris if they wanted to.

    Ernie’s ultimate motive is to help the Knicks get shutout so he can pawn off Gilbert Arenas in a trade. He’s hoping the Knicks will be desperate after getting shutout by the other Fa’s. If he can help the Knicks competitors get space he figures it helps his chances of moing Gilbert and his horrible contract.

    I’M 100% CONVINCED, there is a conspiracy against the KNICKS…and it starts with Maverick Carter, who seems to be having a falling out w/ http://WWW….Wes is pushing Lebron to NY where he’d be his right hand man, and no longer CArter, and CArter wants him to remain in Cleve. or head to Miami or Chicago where he’d still be his right hand…

    Ok sure… He has the same feelings about the Knicks as Don Nelson… Remember last year when he traded the 5thpick to Minny… For two players that will be FAs this summer… No love lost there… Dont think he isnt getting any satisfaction from watching the Knicks squirm

    If he never traded Jamison I wouldn’t think these deals are fishy. But he did and what he is doing now is contradicting his previous move. I don’t know if he is or isn’t doing it to screw the knicks but it has to make you think.

    The Wizards are trying to make the knicks fall in total disgrace. Funny, they can’t get enough. This move doesn’t make any sense at all besides screwing up the knicks. I believe it is more than just a media conspiracy, I believe Lebron in Ny is every team worst fear in the nba.

    Unloading Jamison wasn’t fishy. His contract is pretty terrible. The Cavs were desperate fools for taking him. Not wanting anything to do with Big Z, that was a little fishy.

    Actually the Knicks picks to Chicago were LaMarcus Aldridge and Noah. Aldrich was traded draft night for Thomas. Just think about having that front line.

    What was wrong with the Wizards getting Yi? They basically traded Yi for Quentin Ross at no extra cost as the Nets threw in $3 million. If Yi blossoms, they can retain him, if not cut him loose. Blatche just broke his foot or something and is out for 3 months, so they have some depth. Some teams like to get big players, some like to get shooters. Just because Washington like bigs, it doesn’t make them stupid.

    Jamison is finished and Washington got a first round pick for him They got Hinrich and a first round pick for nothing. Watch for Ernie to trade Arenas. They were talking Vince for Arenas. Maybe we could get Arenas for Curry.

    PF- Humphries, Favors (#3 pick)
    C- Lopez, Boone (Qualifying Offer of $3 million)

    Cap space about $30 million without Boone.
