NYDN: Lebron Talked “Dream Team”

by Tommy Dee on June 30th, 2010 at 10:10 am

NY daily news:

“…He said, ‘Would you be willing to take less to join Dream Team?’” the player, who did not want to be identified, told the Daily News. “He said his people were putting it together.”

That conversation lends credence to reports that James will join Bosh and Wade in Miami. In that scenario, Pat Riley will likely return to the sidelines and coach the Heat.

However, there is a twist because with LeBron there always is. There was a report out of Cleveland Tuesday quoting a person close to the Cavs’ free agent as saying that the club still has an edge in re-signing him. There were other reports that James is leaning toward joining the Chicago Bulls…”

Again, to me, this scream NY because I just don’t see him playing with Wade. The Knicks know how much James respects Joe Johnson’s game, and if they somehow can move Curry, or figure to bring in another big, that would be some situation. Things starting to heat up, as we told you they would. Kncks gaining momentum.

  • ds2488

This whole idea of a dream team is ridiculous to me.

If Lebron did that and joined Wade and Bosh in Miami, I would have even less respect for him than I do now.

Anyway, I think its between CLE, CHI, and NY, with all having roughly equal chances of getting him.

I’ve always found this whole Miami thing to be a complete joke just to build up hype, but I guess you never know.

  • brookdon

Unless we acquire JJ in a sign and trade featuring curry, I say our hopes our dieing. Usually there is one media outlet that supports the dark horse but there isn’t a single one. Signing JJ straight up and bringing in Carmelo for lee and Chandler isn’t a bad bet.

  • BiggieSmalls

he’s not going to miami.. next.

  • itzyung1

Toney Douglas, Bill Walker , Jerome Jordan and Gallo Is Better Than Beasley and Chalmers.

  • Sergio

We got to hope Atlanta is interested in having a $11.3M expiring contract in February.

  • bigblue973

who would of though j j would be the key to lebron more so than bosh bosh is complicating things with this sign and trade ish, but if we could get another big that lebron likes and j j then you are right i like our chances, I am really getting nervous we will trade gallo, i just like him for this system but in donnie I trust

  • Dave

Tommy, love your enthusiasm but how are we gaining momentum? You can spin any piece of leaked news as positive for the Knicks, have a bad feeling you’re going to say next week that Lebron signing with Chicago is a good sign for the Knicks haha

  • mikemattone

I think these meetings and “dream team” talks are all about these guys planning to create competition in the league. Here is my thinking:

Heat: Sign Wade, Boozer, Ray Allen
Knicks: S+T for Joe Johnson, Sign Amare and LeBron
    Bulls: Sign Chris Bosh
(Nets grab D-Lee in this scenario, watch Celtics as a dark horse if Pierce leaves Boston)

Now you have Heat Knicks Bulls, three teams in big markets, as the top 4 (still gotta include Magic) in the Eastern Conference. Celtics will make push at players next year (Melo if Pierce leaves?) And the NBA will have most of the big market teams in the East (Miami, Chicago, NY, Boston, DC with Wall) generating alot of buzz and revenue.

  • danisrob

If you add Wade it isnt.

  • jaknicksfan

you are right, i would really love to get carmelo but i dont think denver will really trade him, but if they did i would be 1st in line, hes great and wants to be here, as far a lebron we all just have to wait and see hoe it shakes out, i hope we dont wait too long for him and lose out on trades or other free agents, we need to be a playoff team next season, with or without Lbj

  • herbwilliamsarmy

breaking news: Lebron James just ate an English Muffin with Canadian Bacon. reports say he is leaning towards signing with Manchester United or the Toronto Raptors…awaiting confirmation from Chris Boooooooooooooo sard’s twitter.

  • brookdon

I actually think TD, Gallo, Chandler, and Walker potential can be better than Rose, Deng, Noah, Gibson. Rose is a star, but Noah, deng and Gibson are role players. Out of those 8 I think the only future stars are Rose, Gallo, and Chandler.

  • mikemattone

Remember, Stern still runs the league. He’s got his hand in the cookie jar in regards to ensuring that $$ is made for the league. Also, if Cavs miss playoffs and lose LeBron, watch out for them to “luck out” in the draft. And Atlanta stays competitive with Horford/Josh Smith/Childress/Chandler(in JJ S+T deal), with pieces (Curry’s exp also in deal, teague, players) to make a run at Chris Paul.

  • bigblue973

deng is azz lol he makes way to much for his skill set

  • feramorz

Does anyone know anything about Lee’s openness to a sign and trade? Is he on record about whether he’d be willing to go to Toronto, Denver, Phoenix or Atlanta? What are his incentives? Is timing an issue as far as maximizing our cap space?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered, but it seems like there’s a lot of talk about sign and trades, with Lee factoring in. But I haven’t seen anything about what Lee himself is thinking.

  • mikemattone

Don’t see Chandler as a potential star, see him and Deng actually as same value. One step lower by Granger/Gay but not far off.

  • sino428

Agree here TD, just cant see Lebron joining some “Dream Team” where he wouldnt be the top dog. Hes wants to be the global brand, the biggest star correct? Hes never going to be able to do that in Miami as part of the next ‘Big Three’ if you will, playing second fiddle to Wade.

Wade would always be one ring ahead of Lebron. He would never be looked at like Kobe is right now. The Lakers are Kobe’s team, and everyone knows it, and Kobe gets the credit for leading the team and winning titles. In Miami Lebron would never get that with Wade and Bosh. It would always be the ‘Big 3′ getting the credit.

  • JaymanJD

Wait a minute Tommy, why is it we have to give D’Antoni credit for being sucha GREAT coach on the olympic team and how lebron understands this. However, Lebron’s experience of teaming up with both Wade and Bosh means nothing. To me that means a hell of a lot more than D’Antoni being the assistant coach for an all star team. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh have played with each other, they understand each others styles and were able to change there game to be very successful in the olympics. If Lebron has proven anything in his career is that he really not about stats. Lebron would love to pass a lot more than he shoots and could be the NBA scoring leader if he chose to be EASY. I dont think Lebron would mind scoring only 19 a game instead of 30. Paul Pierce and Garnett and Ray Allen did it. THey all sacraficed stats for winning. Why wouldn’t Lebron do the same? Face it there is really no way you can twist the Knicks being a better situation if Miami can sign Wade, Lebron, and Bosh. LEbron would be foolish not to do that. The knicks need to find a way to move curry thats plan and simple.

  • mikemattone

Which is why I say LeBron in NY with pieces (JJ, Gallo, Amare), Bosh with pieces in CHI (Rose, Noah, Deng) and Wade in MIA with pieces (Boozer, Allen, Beasley) is most likely scenario. All three, if they win a chip, are the main piece, and they all have near perfect complements to match their games.

  • dino2008

Lets not forget if the Knicks cant move curry in a sign and trade for joe johnson…..

they could move curry lee (possibly) in a sign and trade for hedo bosh….

i would personally rather have hedo at 3 years 30 m than joe johnson at 6 years 110…. that contract is absurd imo.

i think lebron would personally enjoy playing along side hedo. my point is not that this trade will happen, but walsh has plenty of options to move eddy.

  • KnicksKnack

so this is the pitch, besides the glitz and opportunity New York presents to globalize the LeBron label; along with becoming the “King… See More” of the greatest city on the planet…..
it looks like it’s LeBron, Joe Johnson and either Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh [or David Lee] donning the ‘blue and orange’ along with Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Toney Douglas and Bill Walker. The Knicks front office is pitching a lower base salary and bonus incentives that would pay $15.7 million annually to the big men; then next year Eddie Curry’s salary comes off the books to improve the roster even more.
…..besides pitching the option of the players to invest their own money into Cablevision/Madison Square Garden, which trades around $19 a share, [when the Garden and the Knicks are thriving in the past, shares have sky-rocketed] back in ’94 shares traded at $50+ a share and $90+ a share in ’99; the 2 years the Knicks reached the finals……. very interesting money pitches to LeBron and the free agents???
or LeBron, Carmelo, Amare/Bosh [with Lee & maybe a Chandler type to Denver]??? Denver is exploring moving Carmelo instead of risking losing him.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS>>>>> IT’S NEW YORK, PERIOD, NO PLACE LIKE IT FROM A BUSINESS STAND POINT AND THEY CAN BUILD A TEAM AS WELL AS ANY OF THE OTHERS.

  • jingo

God bless you, Tommy, for finding a pro-Knick angle to every story :)

  • grahambo86

I’m sorry, Wade, Bosh, Lebron on the same team just made the NBA become a snooze fest.

  • bmathews77

Wade and Lebron can’t play together. They have similar styles and they both demand the ball not to mention their ego’s are too big. Lebron/Wade/Bosh is a pipe dream of Wade and Pat Riley. It wont happen.

“I actually think TD, Gallo, Chandler, and Walker potential can be better than Rose, Deng, Noah, Gibson. Rose is a star, but Noah, deng and Gibson are role players. Out of those 8 I think the only future stars are Rose, Gallo, and Chandler.”

The problem is that Walker, Gallo, and Chandler all play the same position as LeBron. The Knicks lack a center and PG, which the Bulls have in place. Our free agent plans don’t include a center and PG. Until we fill those slots, it’s hard to say we even have a core. We have a collection of wing players, guys that shoot. We need guys that pass and rebound.

  • Starks

    @KnickKnack…

    +11111111111111111111111111111111

Kudos my man, you and I are have the same thinking and Iv been saying this for days….No way does LeBron pass up the chance to play in NYC because NYC means more to him in terms of dollars and branding then any other thing….and guess what whever he goes the team will win espacially coupled with another stud player….If Cleveland had anything close to JJ or Amare on their team this year they would have won the championship, no questions! But instead they had Mo Williams as their best player, MO WILLIAMS!!!!

all this talk about he cant win in NY is really short changing LeBron and how much of a great player he already is at such a young age….the KID will OWN NYC more so then any other player in NY’s past including Jeter, Messier, Broadway Joe, to lesser extent Eli since winning the superbowl….not even close you know why? Because it is Basketball, Basketball is more of a global sport and the NBA is followed (more so in the 90”s early 2000′s then now but still Lebron will change this in NY) much like the EPL, La Liga, all the top soccer leagues are followed all over the world….

This is a NO BRAINER for LeBron and as far as I am concerned it has been a forgone conclusion LBJ will be a Knick and he has known this for quite some time.

Go BOY your # 6 Jerseys…it will be great to have him…all those Jordan years will be forgotten.

  • DatNewYorker

I like James, Bosh and Joe Johnson in NYC better than James, Bosh and Wade in Miami. If James has to choose between Miami and NYC, he would be foolish to go to Miami because miami does not have any more money coming to them next year. We have Eddy Curry’s expiring conract. We can add another max salary player next year. Miami has to trade that crack head beasley and that is not an easy task.

  • Swins

With so many teams hunting for change, and still others who will be impacted without choice, the potential to bring all the needed pieces together are there… For example:

    Trade #1:
Knicks sends: s+t Lee, Chandler, $3m, $3m and Curry
    Receives: a s+t JJ, s+t Bosh, Collison

Golden State sends: M. Ellis, A. Randolph
Receives: Chandler, $10m in savings by 2011

    Atlanta sends: s+t JJ
Receives: M. Ellis and $3m (NYC)

    N.O. sends: Collison, Okafor
    Receives: Curry and $3m (NYC)

    Toronto sends: s+t Bosh
    Receives: Okafor and A. Randolph

Knicks sign Lebron and Tyson Chandler

    Lineup:
    PG – Collison
    SG – J. Johnson
    SF – Lebron
    PF – Bosh
    C – Chandler

Bench: Gallo, Walker, Douglas, Jordan, Barron, Rautin and Fields

  • itzyung1

Actually Walker Is A 2 Guard.
Wilson is versatile he can play whatever he wants.
    And Gallo Plays 3.
Also Toney Douglas Is Our Point, Get Over It.

  • dino of syracuse

As much as everyone loves the beach, their egos (and their entourages) are way too large to co-exist.

  • brookdon

    @Jeff
Chemistry wise they are better fits than LBJ. D Rose commands the ball and can’t shoot so with LBJ he is a non factor. Maybe a 15 and 8 guy. If LBJ is doubled and kicks out who would kick out to in Chicago? Their only good shooter is Deng who plays SF. Lebron style of play makes shooters a necessity which Chitown doesn’t have. As for rebounding if we sign Amare and have Jordan start at center, I think they can handle rebounding better than Noah, who was called a bust until the Lebron to Chitown talk happened, is able to.

  • ScottD

If we sign LeBron, I have to believe that we could then trade one of our many 3′s for a point guard or center!

  • Starks

Noah was a non factor in Chicago, getting into trouble and trust me Chi was looking to get rid of him, now becuase some morons cough cough Bourtard and Co…..mention him as a key piece to LBJ signing, he is an elite young prospect….really??????

Let me refarse this….he avg 10 ppg and 11reb ppg which is BY FAR his best year YET and he is an elite talent????????? I never seen role players get as much love as he is getting lol…unbelievable…HE SUCKS!

  • itzyung1

If We Are Able To Move Ill Will and Curry For JJ…This Lineup is crazy

    Toney D
    JJ
    Lebron
    Bosh
    Jerome Jordan

  • Starks

From what I am hearing it will be LeBron first and fore most, coupled with Joe Johnson (Not max contract) and David Lee for 1 year between 9-10 mil…then I heard the Knicks sign Shaq for the minimum….So you have
Shaq, Lee, LBJ, Gallo, JJ, and Douglas with Chandler off the bench…
Hybrid offense, should be loads of fun…..

  • Starks

Also forgot to mention the Knicks have told Lee once they get rid of Curry next year he would be taken care off with a very nice deal….believe if you want but this is a fact.

  • Petemichaels

Enough of this already … if LBJ has ANY balls, he will just come to NYC.

Doing the “dream team” in Miami will go down as one of the all-time weakest moves.

  • mikemattone

LeBron already played with Noah…his name is Anderson Varajeo

  • Starks

    @ Mikemattone

HAHHA lol +1….to be fair Noah is slightly more athletic but agree..

  • MrDbo

Thank You Starks. Noah is not, never has been, and will never be that great. He is a solid 4/5, but he is nothing special. He is a product of a lot of hype ever since he came out of college. He’s not as good as Chandler or Gallo.

Where Chi has the advantage is Rose vs Gallo at there stage of there careers. Deng and Chandler are a wash to me and while we don’t have a big signed (I am not counting Eddy “Big Snacks 2.0″ Curry), I am confident we will get one way better than Noah.

  • dino of syracuse

Might as well take care of Lee. Get one big FA…LBJ, and surround him with a solid crew. Then again, if Dirk wants in…

  • donnie walsh

I’ve been wondering this- Say the Knicks get Johnson and Lebron and keep gallo.

    Does lebron play the point?

    PG-Lebron
    SG-Johnson
    SF-Gallo?

  • DatNewYorker

If we can’t get Lebron I would not mind seeing David Lee in a sign and trade for Amare. David Lee’s poor defense can be protected by Lopez. David Lee would look like a supestar playing with steve nash.

  • Mucha

LeBron will not play point guard – I think he’ll be the primary ball-handler but you need a smaller guard who can handle the basketball in your line-up.

  • DatNewYorker

I’ve been wondering this- Say the Knicks get Johnson and Lebron and keep gallo.

    Does lebron play the point?

    PG-Lebron
    SG-Johnson
    SF-Gallo?

No gallo would be coming off the bench or move to PF. I prefer he came off the bench.

  • Starks

    @Mr.Dbo..

I agree Rose is a more productive player then Gallo no question however the question becomes this if LBJ goes there which I am firm that he isnt thinking seriously about going to Chicago (new coach unproven defensive master really? Lost to the Lakers, where was he?…..Cheap ass Owner, and really the only piece there is Rose)….my question if lets say LeBron goes there….is Derrick Rose ready to be a pass first shoot second type of Point Guard????

I DO NOT THINK SO….LeBron may like him, who doesnt, he is a Young Mr. Starbury, not as quick as Steph was but all around similar player…but no way LBJ can go there and Rose be the same player….

On the other hand you have Gallo who is a different player obviously then rose, doesnt demand the ball, is perfect for stepping aside and doing his thing in the range….combine him with a player that can drive such as LeBron and JJ….Gallo would EXCEL!

  • jaknicksfan

i just really hope they do not trade gallo, hes the only knick with a heart, remember him and melo? he has fire in his belly and will only get better with experience. hopefully lebron comes here, but if he doesnt we will still get some great players and be a title contender within a couple of years

  • brookdon

    Our Lineup would be

PG Toney Douglas 12 pts 6ast
SG Joe Johnson 20 PTa 5asts 5 Rbs
Sf Lebron James 29 PTs 9 rbs 9 asts
PF Danillo Gallinari 13 PTs 7 rbs 48% from 3
    C Jerome Jordan 7 Pts 7 rbs

    6th man Wilson Chandler

  • JeffM729

    @brookdon

The Bulls can find a shooter cheaply. Mike Miller and Kyle Korver are free agents and shoot three’s better than anyone in the league. Ray Allen is a possibility also to sign there.

BTW, does anyone know who has actually opted out aside from Pierce and Dirk? I believe that Amare, LBJ, and D-Wade need to do this today in order to be free agents.

  • brookdon

They can’t even sign two max contracts. They are short 3.3 million dollars. Unless they sign Lebron at max and Korver at 3-6 mil. They then have 8 mil left over. Or he could go to the Knicks who can sign two max players and already has shooters.

    D Rose
    Korver
    LBJ
    Gibson
    Noah

That’s Not better than Boston with pierce or the magic.

  • MrDbo

@Starks…I agree 100%. Rose is more score first than pass first. Maybe not quite like Baron, Steph, and Franchise, but he is not a pass first PG. Plus, he is not known to be a good shooter. he and Lebron do not compliment eachother’s skill sets.

Gallo, on the other hand, is exactly the type of player that would compliment Lebron. Versatile and can shoot/hit threes until they shut the lights off. I actually think that Gallo has the potential to be very good in this league. Better than Rose? You never know. Gallo’s numbers would have looked alot better if he did not hit a few sophmore (more like a rookie to me) slumps. While he needs to improve his rebounding, he can get to the basket and to the line. I think Gallo being one of Lebrons sidekicks is being underated. If he becomes a 8rpg, I think he has Dirk potential. Seriously…

I would like the knicks to give Dirk a call before Joe J. Imagine Lebron running the show with Dirk Posting or behind the arc, Gallo behind the arc…That would be a killer offense.

I know we already mentioned this, but Noah stinks…can’t stand that guy and he and ‘Bron had words. Taj Gibson is ok, Deng is pretty good, but not great…

    C’mon Lebron…You know what to do…

  • JeffM729

Maybe I live in an alternate universe.

Rose shot 48.9% from the field last season. That’s above Wade and Kobe. Not sayin’ he’s a better shooter than those guys, but he pretty good.

Gallo shot 42.3% from the field. TD, Walker, and Chandler all shot better from the field as did lots of other Knicks.

  • stuckey

Here is a proposal so crazy, it JUST MIGHT WORK.

Sign James and J. Johnson. Use remaining couple million to get a outside shooting 2-3 swing man or big body upfront.

Then trade Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler, $3M, and 2011 2nd to …

    … wait for it …

CLEVELAND for Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao.

Saves Cleveland $45 MILLION for 2011-2014.

Gives James familiarity/comfort (defense in the middle), the Robin-sidekick to get him over the top, PLUS greater upside (mainly Gallinari, who compliments James better than Jamison).

And a commitment from the Knicks to max out every exception from here until forever to keep improving.

    Williams/Douglas
    J. Johnson/Walker/Rautins
    James/Walker/Fields
    Gallinari/Baron
    Varejao/Jordan/

    + a veteran at around $2.5m.

  • NYKFanfromQueens

I’m really starting to believe that LBJ’s team know who the loud mouths are and coyly tell them something or let them think they found out something, to throw everyone off the trail. They knew this player (if true) would open his big mouth, so they called him!

  • brookdon

    @Jeff

D Rose was 16-60 from threes last season. If you watch him play you see his game is driving on pick and rolls and fastbreak scoring. 80% of his attempts are layups.

  • TobyKnight

If Plans A and B don’t work out, who would be a better fit for NYK:

    Kyle Korver or Rudy Fernandez

  • feramorz

    A few points.

First, it’s interesting to hear all these possibilities. Who knows what will work, but the thing it shows me is there are literally hundreds of ways this free agency thing could break.

Second, although his decision to have Maverick Carter as his manager shows a lack of business judgment, almost everything else LeBron has done shows him to be a savvy person. Even cancelling the New York tour and distancing himself a bit from William Wesley were savvy, level-headed moves that make sense. Analysts love to paint it as neck and neck between one or two teams (and also love to not even mention the Knicks for some reason), but if LeBron is as savvy as I’m giving him credit for, there’s no way you take any option off the table. This thing has to be wide open.

  • brookdon

Dwyane Wade on the speculation that the media has releases: “It’s an ongoing process. Nothing is final. I haven’t made a final decision yet, just trying to get away from everything for a minute. It’s a lot of things happening right now. A lot can go down between now and July 8. Of course, I want to be in Miami. But everything has to happen the right way. LeBron doesn’t know what’s going to happen. Chris doesn’t know. I don’t. But it’s funny how much you hear as far as speculation. You’re like, “When did that happen”. ”

That’s a subliminal diss towards ESPN

  • gianthinker
  • DinnerDog

Lee, Curry and Chandler for Amare and Barbosa. As long as Lee doesn’t sign for a huge number that’s like getting Amare and Barbosa for about only 10 million of our cap room

  • gianthinker

Korver and I’m a Rudy fan but Korver is a 3 point beast!

  • JeffM729

    @brookdon

Three point shooting isn’t essential for a point guard.

    Rose 16 for 60
    Westbrook 23 for 104
    Rondo 17 for 80

For anyone of these three, I’d roll out the red carpet and personally welcome to the Garden.

You want your point guard to run the offense, not be bombs away. You seem to think that Derrick Rose is an impediment to a prospective max free agent. He is only 21 and will get even better.

  • brookdon

    @ Jeff

Those other two guards are PASS FIRST GUARDS. They have proved that they can play off ball. Do you think Derrick rose will automatically be a great offball G with LBJ. That’s taking away everything he has been able to do in his career. And you are right he can only get better and so can everyone on the knicks.

  • itzyung1

    @Jeff

You are completely missing the Point, Its About Where Lebron Fits The Best And Toney Fits Better With Lebron Than D Rose, because he isn’t ball dominant, he can bring the ball, and he can hit his wide open three pointers.

Even Though CP3, Deron Williams and Steve Nash Are ALL Pretty Good Three Point Shooters And They Are The Top Point Guards Right Now By The Way.

  • brookdon

@Jeff. I’m not trying to say rose is a bad player. He is a stud. I’m just saying that right now he is in a system that fits him perfectly in which he score first. That being said I think the two players that fit their team the most are Carlos Boozer and Joe Johnson. If they get Lebron that’s good but I don’t think lebron and rose together would be as great a tandem that everyone makes them out to be.

  • ByG SerCH

Dont believe the hype. Watch Knicks Live 2nite at midnite, and expect to hear by 1215 am that we Sign and Traded Curry and Gallo or Chandler for JJ or Amare, and then by the end of the show, expect to hear we offered a max deal for whichever other we didnt sign…

then, sometime over the weekend, Lebron will come to his senses and sign with the Knicks and we’ll introduce all 3 on July 8th…i remember waking up and seeing the backpage of the daily news, with houston and childs and larry johnson on the back, and i almost fainted…if/when my proposed “dont believe the hype” scenario happens, i’ll soil myself, and my head will explode at the sheer awesomeness of those moves…

so also expect to hear 32 YEAR OLD, SLIGHTLY CHUBBY, HEAVILY TATTOOED ITALIAN MALE SH*TS SELF, EXPLODES HEAD AS KNICKS SIGN 3 FREE AGENTS…
(that’ll be all over the news)

  • gianthinker

    Good Field’s article pre-draft:

    http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/04/landry-fields-is-draft-material/

“I’m the type of player willing to do anything for a team. Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do that. Whatever they ask of me, I’ll do that plus take it to the next level. It’s the kind of player I am and the kind of character I have.”

  • mikemattone

Sorry to be late to the party BUT the will LeBron be the PG answer is YES YES YES YES. D’Antoni’s entire pitch is clips of Magic running showtime Lakers and Nash running the Suns and D’Antoni saying to LeBron “that is you”. In the Knicks Plan A scenario the starting 5 is as follows:

    PG: LBJ
    SG: Joe Johnson
    SF: Chandler
    PF: Gallo
    C: Amare/Bosh

Bench: Douglas, Korver, Rautins, Walker, Fields, Jerome Jordan, Barron

Yes there is not real “girth” but D’Antoni/Walsh really feel that there is enough “length” to make this work defensively. I tend to agree. Have fun backing down Bosh/Gallo when LBJ/Chandler/the other 4/5 provide backside help, and oh by the way that starting 5 and bench combo probably put up 115 a game.

  • mikemattone

LeBron at PG is a competitive advantage in the eyes of the Knicks.

  • DW4Pres.

@mikemattone, how did you get curry off the books without trading Chandler or Gallo? you should probably give donnie a call immediately if you’ve figured out a way to do this.

In what realm of reality do you get that this gives the Knicks momentum. Some of these posts are ridiculous.

Bosh, however, told the Miami Herald that the idea of he, James and Wade playing on the same team — specifically with the Heat — is likely more a dream than reality.

“I don’t even know how it would work. It sounds pie in the sky. [Pat] Riley is known as a guy who is like a mastermind-type genius. He’s probably having a vision one day. But who knows? I don’t see it happening.”

@DW4Pres that roster can be built in the scenario that JJ and Amare take under max with playoff bonuses and use $$ to buy MSG stock as discussed yesterday as the Knicks “best-case scenario” plan in regards to LeBron. Based on that, Curry and his 11.5 million head back to the “on the team but not part of the 12 man squad” zone.

The day NYC doesn’t smell like the crack of dolon’s fat a$$ will be the day Lebron signs with the knicks. My word that city smells terrible. Ever heard of alleys? Dump trash in the street = Brilliant. The screams LUXURIOUS METROPOLIS!! Please stop with all this NYC is the mecca talk. It’s sad. And Gallo (funny a scrub deserves a nickname) is your big “piece”. If piece of shit is the inference, then yes, you got your piece. I’ve seen over a dozen knicks games this year. Gallinari is the WORST defender in the league.
