Source: Amar’e and NY “In Numbers”

by Tommy Dee on July 1st, 2010 at 11:35 pm

A source  close to Amar’e's camp informs us that the Suns big man is ready to come to NY and that they are currently, “figuring out the numbers.”

I’ve somewhat posted conflicting reports about Amar’e and Miami because I’m getting info from everywhere, but it sounds like he’s ready to commit to the Big Apple and it’s a numbers crunch. One would figure it’s a big deal and a risk for the Knicks if Lebron does not come along with him.

However, could this be the first shoe to drop in what could be the greatest pick and roll tandem in NBA history?

Stay tuned…Trying to confirm. But either way we won’t know officially  for a while so hang in there…

  • brookdon

    Wow LBJ iS definetely coming

    Gallo Chandler Amare>>Rose Noah Gibson

  • Dylan

Is this the same source that told you about the Jerome Jordan deal?

  • row

    it helps. it definitely helps.

  • brookdon

Then again there have been alot of crooked sources lately :/

  • nyknicks19

isnt amare 29 though…how much longer will he be able to score/dunk like he does now?

  • row

    turns 28 in November

  • brookdon

Anything that brings lebron in son. I would bring mcdyss at max if lbj wanted him lol

  • Jankees27

26 or 27. he was drafted at 18 in 2002

  • itzyung1

It really doesn’t matter we need a PF and If They believe Bosh Isn’t coming Amare is next up.
Amare/Melo, Amare/Lebron Both make us a better team than we have been producing.
BUT A optimistic fan has to believe Mike and Donnie pitched “pick your running mate” to Lebron and he said Amare, So Mike And Donnie went and got him Amare.

  • brookdon

I hope that what happens. LBJ knows (or hopefully does) know that Gallo with a big man makes the knicks contenders next season, and even moreso than the bulls.

  • dino2008

bosh is not as good as a fit as amare is. bosh cant run the pick and roll like amare can. bosh doesnt like the spotlight. let him go to south beach.

the knicks heat rivalry is back

  • mustarda

thanks GOD!!! I think it’s a matter of time, surely Walsh has talked about Amare coming to LBJ, and if they are close to a deal this might mean something.

  • Dylan

We should probably wait til Tommy confirms before we get too excited.

  • Koosh

Look, the bottom line is this is the first piece of good news that the Knicks have received regarding player personnel in close to a decade. Great job Donnie…One down and a few more moves to go!

  • knickman2

Amar’e makes me nervous. With LBJ or Johnson I’m ecstatic and spending $300 on two new authentics but he is still an injury risk. Microfracture surgeries often require additional work a few years later and can lead to complications. Doctors say that Amar’e's eye is one poke away from career ending. I know it doesn’t matter to Dolan but Amar’e is unisurable which means the insurance companies don’t want to take the risk on him, whey should the Knicks. I hope he’s not going to be our #1 and this is the first step towards LeBron, Here we go.

  • itzyung1

    I Know!
We need to thank Donnie for even giving us this dream!

  • KnicksKnack

d’antonio + amare [past history together]
d’antonio + lebron [passt history together]
    see a trend?

  • Dylan

Lol calm down fellas… A lot of sources have been way off. Lets wait til we get some conformation!

  • TG

Don’t want him. Would rather have Lee. Needs a PG like Nash.

  • brookdon

I agree….. It could be an espn source haha

  • KnicksKnack

triangle offense of lebron’s pick -and-roll/ amare’s post ups and gallo for the kick outs.

  • TG

Oh, and don’t think he likes Dantoni at all anyway–doubt he’s coming.

  • Dylan

    lol exactly. Maybe its Broutard?

  • jg1170

    LOL, agreed.

It’s the complete opposite feeling from draft day when everyone was killing the Knicks.

It is nice to think this is the first of 2 or 3???

  • KnicksKnack

TG I love Lee, but Lee re-upping wouldn’t entice leBron to come here!
[even though i think he is regardless]

  • dino2008

r u describing heaven????? lets go knicks!

  • DatNewYorker

I hope this is true because It looks like we were not getting anyone. If lebron does not show we should go for Brandon Heywood and Raymond Felton at 9m each and Amare at 15m

    PG Raymond Felton/douglas
    SG Chandler/Bill Walker/Rautins
    SF Gallo/Chandler/Fields
    PF Amare/Barron
    C Brandon Heywood/Ed Curry/Jerome Jordan

  • knicksfix

    chris bosh :(

  • KnicksKnack

get amare and king james and swing a chandler/curry trade for a point guard!!!
    then sign mike miller.

  • brookdon

Lol broutard is the funniest twitter I have ever read!

  • KnicksKnack

if we agree to eat okafor’s contract and they take on curry’s expiring contract, what do we need to add to grab CP3???? if it’s realistic in any way possible.

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

On the Stoudemire front, I don’t know which team made the better offer yet but those closer to the situation think it’s New York.

  • Dylan

    lol I know pure genius!

  • londrege

Don’t get too excited yet but nice to hear a positive knicks rumor. Have you guys checked out the espn chats? Zach Harper of truehoop was talking about how he was interested to see knicks plan b since they had failed at getting lebron. As if lebron had already committed to chicago…seriously what is wrong with espn?

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

i bet the knicks giving this dude a 100+ mil contract

  • brookdon

Nah Curry will not be traded. They have an arrest warrant out for him now it would be best for us to just keep his contract.

  • jg1170

Like it but who’s taking Curry and for which PG making 13.4 mil?

  • Dylan

lol I know we are a bipolar fan base!

  • TG

If that’s the case, then I’d do what he says…but we don’t know that.

  • SilentJay

I think he’s 28, but it’s not that big of a difference. I wonder how long he’ll be able to maintain the pace he showed last season. No doubt he’s a great player -although his shortcomings are widely known-, but I’d really like to hear what the reports will say after the talk with Bosh, because no doubt he’s a better player (and younger).
I do think the guy’s not worth the max and I see Walsh folding under the pressure and giving the max right away.

  • bartnyk

Great first move by NY right here Amare is one of the most dominate post guys in the league, big time move by Walsh and D’Antoni.

  • SilentJay

What makes you think Bosh won’t be able to run the P&R as well as Amare?
Better if the guy doesn’t like the spotlight, the last thing we need is egos clashing.
As if it wasn’t enough with the coach’s ego.

  • CircleLimit4

Why not wait until they pitch to Bosh?

Bosh > Amare, I bet Lebron agrees.

  • brookdon

Curry with those arrest warrants in Chicago will be very hard to move.

  • fauci933

They’ll give him a max. The Rudy Gay signing effed up any chances of signing these FA’s to anything but the max. It’s just the market that we’re in right now, nothing we can do about it. I’ll shell out a max to Amare because it could go a long way in getting LBJ.

  • bartnyk

Some people are never satisfied. SMH

  • SilentJay

Until pen and paper are one, I won’t say I’m happy, I’ll just stay indifferent until everything goes down.
Assumptions are the worst thing that we can do at this point. Expectations get way to high.

  • LB2NYplz

yea i love chris broutard lol

  • NYknicks

You have to think that if we are actually signing Amare that LeBron in some way told the team he would welcome playing with him. This can’t hurt our chances really and it doesn’t seem like bosh was ever very interested in playing here so I like this potential move.

  • SilentJay

No one. If Walsh’s lucky, someone will be desperate enoguh for relief come deadline time to make a ridiculous proposal. That’s the only way Walsh will get a chance to trade him.
If anything happens before, I’d personally consider it a miracle.

  • LB2NYplz

exactly after seeing the deals agreed to 2day (gay, amir, gooden)

guys like amare n bosh shouldnt accept anything less than the max

  • SilentJay

The complete opposite from last offseason. Walsh’s got to be careful with the money he spends. I don’t see Amare playing at the same rate in 3 years.

  • Armand27

Man, how much would it suck for Cleve if the man they should have gotten buy chose ancient Jamison instead, is the reason Bron leaves them for the Knicks?

  • LB2NYplz

“EXPECT THE WORSE, HOPE FOR BETTER”

    no ink no excitement 4me

  • SilentJay

    Totally agreed.
    Younger and better.
If James ahs issues with that, he can go to hell.

  • bluemax

I bet knicks have offered max contract to 5 different ppl. the first guy to accept wins and gets a teddy bear.

  • brookdon

I haven’t found anything online about this…. I hope this is true because if not we are done.

  • bartnyk

BTW best PNR in NBA history Stockton/Malone I know your excited Tommy but lets not go crazy.

  • SilentJay

How twisted the ironic fate of horrible decisions…

  • dino2008

bc stockon and malone won so many rings, with the greatest pnr in nba history. give lebron and amare a chance if this happens before u go agains what tommys saying.

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

there will be no other 2 that run a PnR like stock N malone they didn’t win any rings but i don’t see amare an lebron but if the knicks get them runnin a good PnR

  • KnicksKnack

“The Knicks are still hoping to convince LeBron James, Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire to come play in New York next season, for a pay cut.
They would offer each a five-year deal that averages $15.7 million with an opt-out after three years. Then, the Knicks would pay the players more since they’d have their Bird rights. Yep, this is a real long shot. But the Knicks can sign another max-player (Carmelo Anthony?) next summer after Eddy Curry’s contract expires. If they don’t get LeBron, they will then likely offer Johnson and Stoudemire max deals. If they aren’t signed by another team by then.”

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

i know he said that earlier yesterday

  • SilentJay

It’s not a question of being unstafisfied. Like I said, he’s a great player (which usually indicates the person’s positive vision of a player), but seeing as this is the chance to get a fresh start going into the future, I have to think about the money that’ll be given to him proportionally with the amount of time he’ll be able to play at the level we’re all expecting to see from him.
Besides, if you could, you’d pick Amare over Bosh?
If the meeting with Bosh goes well, expect to make that decisions.

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

amare will start depending on that jumper more an more he wouldn’t be a post player anymore

  • DatNewYorker

we can also gamble on a Gilbert Arenas and Amare Staoudamire duo. we give washington Curry’s expiring contract and chandler.

    PG Arenas/Douglas/Rautins
    SG Walker/Arenas/Rautins
    SF Gallo/Fields
    PF Amare/Barron
    C Jerome Jordan/Curry/Barron

  • rjs1983

  • bartnyk

Your the type of person that’s never happy aren’t you?

  • belikmike23
  • dino2008

can u please cite these sourcesssss

  • Lebris Jamosh aka ridiculous upside

    You have sources?

  • TobyKnight

I concur that it is slightly more attractive, but Chicago is going to add another Max FA of their own.

Is TD Gallo Chandler and Amare better than Rose, Noah, Deng, Bosh?
    Or Rose Noah Deng Boozer?
    Or Rose Noah Deng Lee?

    We still need a Center.

That’s why the Curry Chandler for Collision Okafor trade works well.

Collision Gallo Amare and Okafor is arguably as good as Rose Deng Noah and Bosh/Boozer/Lee

    Rose >>Collision
    Deng << Gallo
Noah = Okafor (maybe a slight edge to Noah)
    Amare = Bosh/Boozer/Lee

It's basically a wash and LBJ can make more $$ in NY

  • jg1170

    ROFLMFAO

  • Lebris Jamosh aka ridiculous upside

“but i don’t see amare an lebron but if the knicks get them runnin a good PnR”

    Why not?

  • dino2008

curry and chandler for okafor collison (more than fair… better for no, but we need to do this. collison is a hard nosed GREAT defender… lbj would love collison)

    collsion
    lbj
    gallo
    amare
    okafor

bench… douglas, rautins, jordan, fields, alston…. need backup bigs.

  • HawthorneWingo43

    Exactly.

Besides, David Lee can rebound and pass better than Amare. If we trade for CP3 (or Collison) and Okafor, and keep Lee, I’d be a much happier camper.

  • HawthorneWingo43

I’d take Lee in our (D’Antoni’s) system over either of them.

  • dino2008

how are the knicks working out the numbers… amare is getting a max deal. is it really necessary to work out the numbers?

  • Dylan

    chrisbosh via twitter:
I’m starving and ready for dinner. Grabbing some food with close friends… Maybe we’ll discuss everything that happened today

This dude just can’t get enough attention! Holy f-!I have never seen a free agent draw out a process like this and tweet about his meetings! Notice he also went on all of the radio and TV stations right before free agency started. WOW!

  • Mucha

    Hahaha

  • KnicksKnack

    you’ll jizz in your pamts?
    same here!
    well worth it!

  • TobyKnight

    As a Plan F that’s not horrible

Arenas is likely to come back strong. You would have some serious weapons on that team. You still need a center though.

  • JaymanJD

Listen guys lets not be so happy to narrowing in on Amare he is a problem and half. Namely he is injury prone. It makes me very worried that the SUNS would allow him to come to the Knicks who are coached by D’Antoni who they do not want to do any favors. The Suns probably no way more about his medical history than anyone and the fact that they are refusing to give him max dollars says a whole lot about how they think he will hold up long term. The problem is you sign him to max for five years and hope you get 3 great years. Is that worth it. With a Big man Knees need to be a concern. I still don’t believe Amare was ever going to get Lebron. You think James doesn’t realize the risk of teaming with Amare and then mid season Amare hurting his knee and being finished. I think he was always thinking of teaming up with Bosh maybe, Joe Johnson maybe, wWade possibly. In my book Amare has proven over he years that he can also be a defensive liability Gasol ate him up. Also are we expecting him to play center that is a huge mistake he is not a center and we will run into the same issues that Lee had. I think we are falling for a guy who is just a more atheletic David Lee and has around the same production. Why not just pay lee less and bring him back. David Lee PER last year was 22.3 and Amare’s was 22.7 and boozer was 21.4. Amare is simply a flashy pick rather than a smart pick since you could get the other two for cheaper and their production is not that much difference in fact out of the three boozer is probably a better defensive player. Again, we talk about this fantastic pick and roll offense but the knicks problem has never been scoring even when they were coached by Isiah. The knicks problem is defense. To me its really not a huge upgrade between Lee and Amare especially if you decide to put Amare at Center. Now don’t get me wrong Amare is Better than Lee no question but Injury concerns longterm and Max money may not make it worth it for me.

  • Mucha

What is wrong with ESPN? They are wrong.

  • Mucha

    Trade Chandler for Arenas???!!?!!?ü¨??!!!=ojdsj??

  • mattybny63

Quite honestly, no matter what free agent power forward we sign (Amare, Bosh or Lee), the other shoe to drop should undoubtedly be Curry to Charlotte for Tyson Chandler. Both have one big year left on their contract. Larry Brown gets back Curry for a year, and we get a shot blocking defensive center for a year until his cap space opens up. It makes sense with whomever we pair him with. Doesn’t impact signing any other free agents. What do you fellas think?

  • KnicksKnack

they’re trying to be creative with a chance at getting jj and lebron. they stated earlier today that they can offer $11mil that somehow increases to $15.7 with playoff incentives, thus being able to sign 3 free agents. a report confirmed this later on when they said the offered lebron a max contract and explained another offer of $11mil per to him.

  • JaymanJD

First of oddly enough I though I saw Okafor in manhattan the other day big dude. But Okafor is probably the worst contract in the league no question and he is very overrated. If not for his contract he would be bench player.

  • TobyKnight

    Where do I sign?

  • Ftingue

    LOLOLOLOLOL

  • SilentJay

    Really? Damn…
Well, it’s all a matter of opinion, I respect that.
In my eyes, Bosh is 4x the player Lee is.
The fact that Amare’s older maybe brings him closer to Lee.

  • JaymanJD

Rather trade chandler for Jason Thompson of sacremento or sign Shaq to a 1 year deal. Although I dont know if D’Antoni wants to do the whole shaq thing again.

  • Mucha

Chris Bosh is obviously better than Amare Stoudemire and I think he’s part of plan A but Stat’s resume speaks for itself. I’m not an Amare fan but he’s clearly an upgrade over David Lee, no question about it.

  • TobyKnight

What kind of money do you think Lee is going to get in this market? He is going to get close to the Max now. I can’t see him getting less than $14 mil. That makes Amare’s max more palatable. He would be the 4 on this team, unless the Knicks signed Lee or Bosh, which if they sign Amare is not likely to happen.
I would rather take Lee at 11 than Amare at max, but that doesn’t map to current reality.

  • jg1170

The way the markets going it won’t be that much cheaper to sign Lee.

  • JaymanJD

Hes an upgrade no doubt but Lee is durable. If you had to put your money down would you risk max money on Amare whose career could be done quicker than your seat gets warm to watch his first game. The talent is there but durability is a concern.

  • dino2008

amare may fight better with lebron. and amare imo is better suited for new york. chris bosh may not be able to handle it as well as stat could. either way who gives a crap… moving in right direction!

  • SilentJay

Ok, ok. We need to calm down here. Arenas should come into any scenario should every plan from A to Y falls apart.
Even then, Walsh would probably hold on to the money and give it another go before the deadline and then hope for Melo later (if he even is available in 2011).

  • rjs1983

Yeah if Bosh likes attention so much how has he not signed with NYK yet? He’s obviously desperate to be paid attention to. His time in TOR is apparently equivalent to a child being ignored.

  • dino2008

thats not going to happen. joe johnson and amare are not taking less money than rudy gay got. this is amares and joe johnsons big pay day.

  • KnicksKnack

bosh seems not to want new york.
suprising when you look at all of the attention he needs today with all his anal tweets.

  • PipeDreamin

the thing that no one mentions is that if they pay 3 max’s 12 mil instead of 16.5 they can still offer the 3mil playoff incentive bonus. So these guys will be looking at 15 mil, rather than 12.

Not saying theyd go for it. but just pointing that out…

  • KnicksKnack

i think shaq is a lock if/when lebron signs.

  • brookdon

    As a fit for LBJ
    Collison>Rose (He averaged 18 and 9 while rose averaged 20 and 6)

    Gallo>>Deng

    Noah>Okafur

    Amare=Bosh, Boozer, Lee

  • dino2008

okafor plays solid defense… the guy contests shots. when you have collsion, lebron, gallo, and amare you dont need him to score. he is a very servicable big man who mike may be able to get the best out of. i like him.

  • brookdon

That’s true but does LEBRON want to leave the Cavs for David Lee?

  • rjs1983

Lee may be more durable in the sense of injuries, but is his GAME more durable? In other words, as he ages will he continue to improve his athleticism etc. or will he lose it relatively quickly because he is white? True story.

  • KnicksKnack

so we’re getting amare, jj, lebron, mike miller and shaq?
thank god, i can finally go to slepp now!

    knicks 2011!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOL
gotta be honest, it runs through my mind too.

  • Adam L

Where does Al Jefferson fit in? Better than Bosh? In between the two?

  • JeffM729

there will be so much talent here that he cannot hurt for 1 year.

  • KnicksKnack

    goodnight peeps!

  • DVJ

Amare with Lebron is better than Bosh with Wade.

  • gianthinker

Except once CHicago pays a max player they can’t afford Lebron. We can.

  • akdrum
  • gianthinker

Exactly. And like I said before his microfracture surgeries have made his knees better than ever. Its like Tommy John surgery. Use to mean you were done. Now you are better than ever.

  • SilentJay

    How about behind them?
No way you can compare them imo. Different positions. Different ages, different levels.
    Uncomparable.

  • gianthinker

Amare, first max. Lebron, second max.

  • gianthinker

I’d take Amare then Bosh then Lee.

  • REELTALKSHAKES

that still remains to be seen…I do think both are better compliments.

Bosh can be used in the same exact sets and plays JO ran last year…very similar skillsets, obviously one is much younger and durable than the latter, but similar games…Bosh likes to hold onto the ball a lil too much before he puts the ball on the floor…which would be similar to what we seen w/ Al Chucketts last season…

Amare is more familar w/ the system and won’t take any time to adapt to it, and can help teach the rest of the guys it as well…Amare knows what coach is looking for in the offense…

just hope they see that, and don’t all try and go separate ways…

Amar’e Stoudemire has likely played his final game with the Suns.

Stoudemire’s return has been categorized as ‘highly unlikely’ by one source that spoke with Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic.

Stoudemire is being pursued by the Knicks and Heat, amongst multiple other teams.

  • ds2488

wow. I’m personally not a fan of Amare, but I would be ecstatic if he signed right now. It’s a good start to the offseason, we can immediately sell Lebron on the pick and roll with Amare, and if we strike out with other free agents it gives us a much better core to build around with role players.

I hope this happens. Tommy was all over the Jerome Jordan thing when no one else knew about it. Obviously this is much different….

  • gianthinker

Lee is going to get way over paid and if he was the type of guy to get Lebron or other max’s to join him we would have re-signed him already and moved on. Amare is that type of guy therefor you pay him accordingly. Give me Amare any day.

  • row

I don’t get why there’s no love for Al Jefferson. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take Bosh and to a lesser extent Amar’e if it brings in LeBron. But Big Al is legit. Cheaper, younger, better defender than both and can actually play the PF-C position because he’s got at least 20 pounds on both of those guys.

    @brookdon

… maybe not. I dunno. If he doesn’t want to leave for that reason, then IMHO, he doesn’t really appreciate what David Lee can do for him.

I would add that Lee also won’t complain if he doesn’t get “his shots.”

There’s also the problem with Amare’s eye which I hear is one poke from ending his career.

Finally, if we can add CP3, Okafor, Mike Miller to go along with him, Lee and Gallo that it should make-up for whatever sense of loss he would feel if we didn’t get Amare … at least I would hope so.

  • gianthinker

I hated the idea at first myself. I think after watching him in Phoenix and Cleveland anyone would be weary but supposedly Lebron loved playing with him and he’d be willing to take the minimum. At the minimum I’d take him because Lebron would have Amare to run with. I dont think it would hurt them to have Shaq there for the big body to bang with others and play D as long as they have up and down players like Lebron and Amare. He would have to come at the minimum though or I’d say no.

    Honestly, I want Branden Haywood.

I wish DW would make a run at Haywood for center and Shaun Livingston for PG.

Report: Amare done w/ Suns, going to Knicks?

Phoenix radio personality John Gombadoro reports the Suns and Amare Stoudemire have broken off contract talks and that there is no chance he’ll return to the Suns.

Gambadoro goes on to write that he also believes Amare has a max offer on the table from the Knicks. While this doesn’t really come as a surprise, we finally have a big-named free agent who won’t be returning to his old team. And Chris Bosh might be following in his footsteps. Yahoo’s Adrian

Wojnarowski said on Twitter that Amare does not have a max offer from the Knicks – yet – but it’s quite possible a deal is on the table. Jul. 2 – 12:51 am et

If DW can get this Amare thing to work out he should contact Raja Bell and check on his status. His D could help us big time and make us even more attractive for Lebron IMO.

  • Aj

he can help, he would be a great mentor to Landry. I say go after him. Mike Miller and him play the same position, right?

  • gianthinker

Yeah Bell is a 1-3 guy specializing in defense. Would be a huge pick up IMO.

  • gianthinker

The Lakers offered the full MLE to Mike Miller.

  • danisrob

I agree, great option if we strike out in FA (as long as Lee doesnt jump at another offer first).

Would love a core of Jefferson, Gallo, Chandler, Douglas and maybe Rubio?

  • danisrob

Woah whats going on! Someone has named their source!

  • Ray

Wouldn’t we get better rebounding from D Lee. Who is going to make up the rebounding production? IF Amare is who LeBron wants then we sign him but lets just not give out the max money to everyone. Rudy Gay is a fool for taking that contract b/c they have done nothing to upgrade that team. Its going to be the same old Grizzles. LEts see what rumors hit the airwaves today.

  • Bruno

    IMO:

    Lee >>> Amare

STAT (gee why is that his nickname?) is not a 20-10 guy, more like 20-5/6 and complains if he’s not getting “his”. Plus Lee would be cheaper leaving more $ for another player (Haywood?)

  • MrDbo

How much cheaper would Lee be really? Gay got a max contract. Amir J got overpaid. Lee can argue 13 mill to start. Lee at 13, Lebron at 16.6, No way haywood signs for arond 6 mil. It’s about star power and if the perception, which he probably is, and Lebron agrees, spend the extra money for amare. is that amare is better

  • itzyung1

Amare is actually a decent Weakside Shot Blocker. He actually tries on defense and he is taller than Lee, believe it or not Height plays a difference.

  • dbruno

I wouldn’t be upset if the Knicks came outta this thing without LeBron, if they snagged Amare and pulled off a trade for Paul.

Having a stud PG and PF (talk about PnR) would immediately make us a playoff team and I guarantee Melo wouldn’t be signing any extension if he looked and saw a huge vacancy at the 3 in NY with these two beasts already here.

  • KnicksKnack

grizzly are in a position to match any offer, once they offered gay the max he had no other choice.

  • KnicksKnack

did anyone hear that bosh was signed by some agency to tape the whole free agency process and he has a film crew following him to all the meeting to document all of this?
is he nuts? i thought his twitter posts were crazy enough.
i want no part of this selfish, self-absorbed nut, he’d be out of control in nyc!
pat riley can baby sit him for the next 5 years!

  • feramorz

the thing is, he sounds made for NYC. He loooves the attention.

  • KnicksKnack

    LOL
    touche!

  • TobyKnight

Amar’e Stoudemire isn’t going to return to the Suns as he has received a better offer than anything he expects from Phoenix.

A source told FOX Sports that Stoudemire is so impressed with the deal that he could agree to it as soon as Friday, making him the first major free agent to come off the market.

Stoudemire met with the Heat on Thursday, but it isn’t clear whether Miami is the team that made the offer.

He planned to visit with the Knicks on Monday and also has a meeting in the works with the Bulls.

I always thought he was destined for Miami and that Bosh was destined for here. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

  • feramorz

In, my mind, just the word Nets sounds like the Price is Right Losing Horns. (http://priceisrightlosinghorn.com/)

I think all New Yorkers feel the same. Add LeBron to the mix, it doesn’t change a thing.

  • danisrob

Im happy with Amare coming as long as LeBron is following, which I feel very positive about after yesterday. Sounds like Donnie and Mike were pretty happy with their pitch.

Imagine Douglas, Gallo, Chandler, Lebron and Amare this season with potentially Tony Parker next year? Definitely a possibility.

  • danisrob

    I agree.

But if they got LeBron and moved to Brooklyn and the Knicks had another couple of losing seasons, man a lot of people would jump ship.

  • feramorz

Anyway you slice it, Donnie’s gotta bring it.

  • Dylan
  • Bsems

your right TDEE, a pick n roll involving hwsnbn(he who shall not be named) and amare would be devastating. Pick your poison right?

This news makes me feel sad, sad in the fact that hwsnbn is not interested in david lee as a teammate. If he was, i doubt that the knicks would be bumping up their scheduled date with amare. If we get amare to commit before monday, it should play a huge role in hwsnbn decision.

  • Jack D

At this point, CP3 and Amare would be a dream. I’d love it.

  • Jack D

    yes, we call them bandwaggoners
