Wade: One Player and I’ll Get You a Ring

Though easily dismissed as mere posturing, Dwyane Wade did send the Knicks positive signals during their meeting with him on Friday.A source with direct knowledge of the meeting said that when the Knicks told Wade they would build their team around him, he responded, “Just get me one player and I’ll get you a ring.”

Could they have that player early in the week?

Wade and Amare Would be a great combo, with gallo hitting threes and toney passing the ball and hitting jumpers, even with earl barron and jordan as centers we will be in contention in the east then trade curry for melo or parker and we are in the finals.

  • mikeplugh

    It’s all talk.

  • scarfacebaj19

Jaknicksfan- right with u! Would love that!
PG- Douglas, SC- Wade, SF- Chandler, PF- Gallo, C- Amare!
PG- Wade, SG- Walker, SF- Chandler, PG- Gallo, C- Amare
PG- Douglas, SG- Wade, SF- Gallo, PF- Amare, C- Barron/Jordan

He doesn’t mean Amare or Boozer–he means Bosh or LBJ.

  • feramorz

    I agree.

BUT, even though I think the odds of him coming here are low, Wade really is the wild card. He just seems like the least predictable. I believe him when he says he’s thinking about what the decision means 10, 20, 40 years down the line. New York has a lot to offer, and if he comes here, we would compete for a championship. Low probability, but not out of the question, because it’s Wade.

  • itzyung1

    You know this how exactly?

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

no way this guy comes to new york. i love him but he’s not coming here. plus for all the talk about amare’s supposed injury issues, wade is reckless on the court. while many see that as a strength and why is he so respected, people will change their tune very quickly after he’s 30 and starts settling for jumpers.

  • TG

Can’t find the link right now, but that was reported by someone…

  • mustarda

I’m not sure wheter Wade is really thinking about leaving Miami or just playing poker with all these teams. If it is the latter he is a psycopath.

  • Jankees27

very true. wade throws his body around like iverson used to, and that third season in denver, iversons body just gave out on him. by the time he got to the pistons at age 32, iverson was shot…this could very well happen to wade

  • Jankees27

ive seen this but ive never commented on this, im sorry and its nothing against you jaknicksfan, but i just dont understand this. why would any team in their right mind trade melo, parker, or paul for eddy curry?!?! the hornets have no reason to trade paul now that theyre under the luxury tax, and they could get SO much better of a return for him than curry…trading paul for curry would bury the hornets franchise for years. Also, parker and melo are also expiring contracts, so trading them for curry would do literally nothing except for get them an inferior player, and the term player is used loosely. the knicks ONLY shot at getting something back for curry is a monta ellis or a baron davis, or someone who has a longer contract that their team is trying to shed in exchange for cap relief now. I’m sorry but we can’t trade for parker or melo with curry…

I’m just saying its a little ridiculous when we only buy into pro Knicks comments and dismiss anti Knicks comments as being biased and unfounded rumors. Until these guys actually sign somewhere I’m not listening to any of it, I’m not convinced amare is coming either. All this talk is meaningless.

  • the oak

If he leaves Miami I see him going to Chicago but I don’t think he is leaving. This really is all BS. Lebron is actually handling this the best which is odd to say.

I am so happy the Raptors are considering not doing a sign and trade for Bosh. Bosh has been acting like an attention whore. You are an NBA free agent, get over yourself. I hope Bosh either is forced to sign back with Toronto for Max or has to sign elsewhere for 30 mil less.

Bosh wants the best of both worlds. Most money and best place.

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

personally i would laugh my arse if the bulls find a way to trade deng for pennies on the dollar and are still rejected by lbj.

  • jaknicksfan

Thats kool, this blog is great we all have fun on here and we all want the knicks to win a championship soon, amare is a great start whoever else we get will be good for us, we will be in the finals again soon. i am a knicks fan 4 life. thanks tommy for making this site for us and everyone Happy 4th Of July!

  • jaknicksfan

thats hilarious and would be great

  • itzyung1

Theres A Difference Wade Actually Said This Not An Unknown Source With Knowledge Of Someone’s Thinking.

  • itzyung1

You guys can nitpick and speculate all you want.
If Wade wants to come here He can have the other Max Contract, Without A Question.

  • http://na moose22

I don’t think Wade wants to leave Miami. That said, if Bosh teams up with Lebron and the Knicks sign Amare, things become interesting. In that scenario, Wade would have to seriously consider the Knicks if he wants to compete against Lebron + Bosh in the future team. Ironically, after all of the talk of the triple headed monster in Miami, it looks like Pat the rat might actually be the one who can get shut out.

    Random LeBron thought.

I think that what frustrates all of us Knicks fans is that the leaks from LeBron say it’s all about the roster, and when we look at what we have to offer, particularly w/ two max positions, we all think we match up well with every team, including the Bulls. This was particularly the case before the Bulls pulled off the Hinrich trade, and they had room for only one max. It was incomprehensible that no one was even talking about the Knicks, because we really did seem to offer a legitimately attractive opportunity.

The more I’ve thought about this, though, the more I’ve realized that the Knicks have been handicapped in the race by being the New York Knicks. I think Knicks fans would even agree, it would mar LeBron’s reputation to be the guy who left the hometown for the big bucks of the city, and that reputational hit does translate into dollars and cents. As a result, I think we’ve been handicapped in this race, because coming to New York would have to be attractive enough to overcome that reputational hurdle, above and beyond what the Cavs and Bulls have to offer.

So, I think we’re frustrated, because we hear all this talk about the Bulls, and we think, hey we’re not that far off, if not equal or better talent-wise. But I think LeBron is just afraid to come to NYC for the reputational hit, and so his team is playing up the Bulls to be better than they are.

I want him to come to NYC. I think it makes the most sense for him to come here, and he would win championships here. But so far, he’s given no indication he will.

Wade: “Give me one player and I’ll get you a ring”.

    We can only pray.

  • TG

Chicago was playoff team w/o LBJ, we match up with them how???

  • LebronSignAfterTheX

LOL but an unnamed source did say this. You guys are dumber than they think apparently.

  • Jeff C

Lebron has given no indication he will come here, or anywhere else for that matter. I still think the chance to break records statistically, play with the best PF in the game, under the best offensive coach in the game, in the best city in the world puts us at or near the top. Guess we’ll see soon enough.

If the knicks sign Amar’e tomorrow, then they are officially in the building. we would then have the best core for a free agent to come to. I like miami core if wade stays, i think it would be neck and neck. Our or theirs. I feel like we have shown players that we are not playing around and that this train is going on with or without. Signing Amar’e would put us in a great position. While i love david lee He doesnt warrant the same attention that Amar’e does. you have to double this guy, not so much with lee. You can play him straight up and not mess up the integrity of your defense, but thats why lee wont get max money because he isn’t a game changer like Amar’e is and he doesnt have Amar’e attitude either. so lets go knicks!

  • Mal

MOre smoke and mirrors I’ll be glad when the dust clears and we all know something

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

    co-sign.

  • PickNY

Got a good point when LBJ has the clowns in his ear. Be a real man and step to the plate. How many other free agents have come to NY and won? The Yankees is proof, so that claim of worrying bout what others may think can be a person downfall.
