Bergen Record: Knicks Not in Final 3

by Tommy Dee on July 5th, 2010 at 8:03 pm

Via Bergen Record

Although many Nets’ fans — and those whose teams are in the race — have been pulling out their hair waiting for James’ decision, the longer it goes could mean he’s leaning toward changing teams.

League sources said he’s deciding from among the Cavaliers, Bulls and Nets.

It’s going to be a crazy week…

Also, another report indicates that James is cool with either Amar’e or Bosh…

  • Ol Dirty 187

dont get to worked up ppl, “dont blieve the hype”…

lets just chill n see what happens, amare is the first chip to fall into place.

im actually really happy to have amare with us. He seems to like ny and wants to help change our franchise and thats exciting…well see what happens over the next few days!

  • adornoj1

ESPN sources?!?!? Lets see what Amar’e can pitch to LBJ!

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

hmmm… a new jersey paper excluding their crosstown rivals from a list of teams in the running to acquire the big free agent prize. agenda, much?

  • yanks2214

I feel like the Bergen Record is just trying to make some noise. They have been nowhere this entire time but now they got the inside source on this, sounds fishy.

  • Starks

of course the Bergen Record is reporting Nets are in the top three lol…anyways….look for LeBron official release he is signing with the Knicks late Wednesday possibly early Thursday by 10am.

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

“crosstown” is the wrong word. you guys know what i mean, though.

  • Mucha

    I don’t buy it.

I want to see what the Bulls, Cavaliers and Nets are capable of doing before LeBron James makes his decision.

  • donnie walsh

    Bergen Record,

“We don’t believe you! You need more people!”

  • Mucha

    Hahaha

  • Ol Dirty 187

i dont see why ppl dont get it. Knicks have a core of amare, gallo, wilson, and douglas, along with walker. Not to mention they have the ability to be flexile and under the cap next year…

im not bein bias cuz im a knicks fan but they have the brightest future by far out of the teams “in the race”. Its the best situation for lbj!

  • Tommy Dees Bodyguard

    nice.

  • jtb

Those are probably the same reliable sources who said the Knicks would be shut out of free agency after day one when nobody had signed yet.

  • grahambo86

Its funny because earlier there were reports saying the longer he waits the more it means he is staying.

  • jtb

Nah, the longer he waits, the better it looks for Lebron if he leaves IMO. If he announced on July 1st that he was signing with another team, it would most likely mean he had his mind made up for awhile (possibly the last 2 years when the Knicks started clearing cap). If he waits longer, it means he can say how difficult the decision was and how he didn’t want to turn his back on Cleveland, etc…

  • snadler

Just went back to check Amare’s twitter page, check this out from what he said on July 1

I’m about 2 apply 2 be a commentator for ESPN. These “experts” are clueless to what is actually going on in the NBA.

  • MrDbo

    Lol.

Since July 1, I can’t even listen to the Jay-Z tracks in my iPhone. I just keep picturing Jay-Z on the billboard with the Russian, get angry, and go to a different track.

  • mustarda

If Lebron goes to nets/bulls I’ll be the biggest Lebron’s hater of the history of the world

  • jtb

Agreed. Why would Lebron come to NY to be hated by 75% of NY?

  • JeffM729

In the LeBron sweepstakes, 2nd place is 1st loser.

  • thefloodwatch

if some Recall Jay-Z tried to get a share in the Knicks and was denied so he joined the Nets …why ?? because if you cant be down with Nike you run with the comp Reebok — all in all the Brand is Authentic and its New York Basketball…not BK Basketball
Madison Square Garden is the Mecca of Basketball not Barclays – no matter how you call it Knicks and Nets rivalry is just the beginning – Why would Lebron wanna be part of a Team that has a better chance of playing at the Rucker – no one cares about a russian billionaire they care about Heart not money
Knicks always had a Pulse – so for anyone to say Nets got more to offer Lebron thats like Lebron choosing Adidas over Nike ( why do it ? )

  • Rome1988

    Bergen Record…NJ paper :)

  • Armand27

Stop it with this Nets nonsense

They are getting shutout or David Lee at best.

Knicks are the Only team that can Offer Bron a player as good as Amare.

James will be a Knick By Thursday.

  • Armand27

They can also offer another real good player next year or Trade deadline.

Cavs Lost Bron the day they didnt get Amare and chose old man Jamison.

  • thefloodwatch

Knicks just opened the Vault today with Amare and Players know what type of Fun they’re gonna have at the Garden – it’s just an Electric place for Competing -
Nets biggest problem is always trying to outshow the Knicks
    lol
but guess what New York will never love the Nets lol they are the Stepchild looking for Acceptance
and now move to Brooklyn thats like down the street from MSG almost – Jay-Z wanna spite the Knicks but it’s Old Money thats running very long
    -
When the Nets leave BK they will see the Empire State Building
and know the Knicks are there going to work
    -
at least Nets didn’t pull a Clippers and play at the same Arena as the Lakers ..that would of Sucked !!!

  • brookdon

I hope NJ doesn’t “Takeover” lol

  • brookdon

    Agreed. This is my thoughts

Chicago- HATE. Will go down as second best in franchise history.
Nets-ULTRA HATE- Disses NYC for NJ’s 12-70 team.
Miami- Iffy just shows that he is overrated and needs Wades city to win.
Cleveland-Admire. Willing to go to a bad team but shows strong loyalty.

  • Armand27

Mets will never be the Yanks Jets will never be the Giants, Nets will never be the Knicks.

No matter how hard they try…

Not trying to bust on the other teams, its just a fact.

  • brookdon

That’s like choosing a Toyota over a Bentley.

  • Bloop33

Well a lot of Brooklynites tend to think they’re holier than thou, so they will take to them like they just completed a three-peat. The rest of NY couldn’t possibly jump on this inferior bandwagon…could they? Its not like the Mets showing up to quell the cry’s of a million and one Brooklyn Dodger and NY Giant fans…this is a ABA franchise that played on Long Island…And now they wanna stroll in from Jerz with the 5th greatest rapper of all time and some cocky Russian character talking bout “Greatness”?

Gimme a break, go back to Jersey!

  • Bloop33

If NYK is Nike…NJN is like a pair of 15 dollar
    “attack force” kicks from Conway.

  • Bloop33

    ^this

  • bluemax

“im not bein bias cuz im a knicks fan”

    of course, not.

    it’s just what you believe.

  • bluemax

nice to see the entire blog is all pumped up.

    I’m psyched!

No question Amare gave us credibility. The garden is going to love this guy. he is tailor made for NYC.

Thank god we didn’t get “ru paul” bosh. can’t stand that phoney.

  • DoubleNickel

    Best. Comment. Ever.
