Thank You David…

I can confirm that David Lee has in fact been traded to Golden State. Sounds like it’s Randolph, Turiaf and Azubuike.

  • newromecity

indeed. one of the classiest, hard-working Knicks I’ve cheered for. congrats on your deal. you will be cheered when GS visits the Garden.

  • LB2NYplz

“EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BETTER”

  • Magik_Trick

Gonna miss him, but were improving….

all we eed now is he perfect point guard to captain the ship!

  • tr3s

Deserved to be treated better, but at least he got a good contract. Golden State is a graveyard though where basketball players go to be ignored no matter how well they play..

  • barnaby8787

Congrats on becoming the second most overpaid player in the league behind JJ

  • dinger

He gave us some great efforts during some pretty tough years. Class act!!

  • barnaby8787

Btw, watch DW go ahead and re-sign chukets…i’m waiting, LOL

  • KnickFan4Life

I’m gonna miss you Dave. You were a great player for us. It’s too bad we could never win with you. Good luck in Bay Area!!!

  • HaS

Bye bye and good riddance _avi_ Appleseed.

  • barnaby8787

Today must be a holiday for you

  • CuBaNGoDzIlLa

Yeah good luck!! I already forgot about you. I’m focusing on CP3 or Carmelo.

  • belikmike23

ESPN reported that the trade was for Randolph, Turiaf, Azabuike, among others. Who are these “others”??

  • Cheech52

Thanks for the hardwork dave. you will always be appreciated by knicks fans. good luck in GS

  • dino2008

David you will be missed. Thanks!

  • Mucha

Good luck with the Golden State Warriors.

  • grahambo86

Any word on anything else with the Knicks?

  • grahambo86

    1. Multiple police cars are protecting the witness billboard in downtown CLE.

  • HaS

Just the _avi_ “the Loser” Lee getting traded part. Great news!

LMAO @ him getting a max contract btw.

No one is apologizing to Chris Broussard lol? I guess he’ll be keeping his job huh?

The man was just doing his job and listening to his sources.

  • bartnyk

Much respect to David Lee wish you played more defense you’d still be a Knicks but in leaving you still helped the team.

  • bartnyk

tear it down!!!! pitch forks and torches

  • NYknicks

Good luck David in Golden State.

  • blackwood

I am watching that Amare introduction at the garden again and damn Mr.Magoo can hardly spit a damn complete sentence out!!! lol Geez man we need to start thinking about who will be filling his spot.

  • Eduardo15

    Burn it down!

  • fauci933

Agreed. I like Donnie a lot, but he does not seem to be in very good shape. A GM should be the next acquisition.

  • bartnyk

I think he can play basketball

  • nyk_realist

    classy.

  • JaymanJD

Really like Randolph but I think at this point it would have be cool to see if Lee and Amare could team up. I would given Lee 12 mil to stay and he might have given a hometown discount.

  • blackwood

He got an 80mil deal!?! there has to be another player involved to cover the 13 mil that Lee will be making.

  • Dylan

    Skip Bayless:
Tomorrow, 10 Eastern, ESPN2: I am going to unload.

LOL I normally can’t stand Skip, but I cant wait for this!

  • HaS

That’s been my stance the whole time.

I didn’t want to get my hopes up for the fairy tale ending.

It was a complete long shot. No doubt about it.

    Walsh, hire Sam Presti please.

  • blackwood

    5mil left unaccounted for.

  • HaS

    LMAO

  • bartnyk

    Full court press on Melo

  • Lebris Jamosh aka ridiculous upside

Right. That’s why he had Lebron going to Chicago for a month. Whatever. Glad it’s done.

  • HaS

_avi_ for 80 mil over 6 years = Ridiculous.

The worst bloated salary given out yet, by far.

  • andersonr84

    I’m looking forward to that.

  • HaS

His sources switched their story to Miami well ahead of the announcement though.

How about Stephen A.? Good for him, he’s looking like a genius right about now.

    Queens in the house.

  • Meet the Bockers
  • HaS

    Exactly.

Randolph, Gallinari (plus filler) for Carmelo and Lawson.

  • Knicks4life

Sam would build this thing the right way.

We have a building block in Amare. Now get a PG and some good young pieces together than can grow together.

  • ds2488

    So far, pretty decent offseason.

If you told me before this offseason started that we would come out of it with Amare, Randolph, Kelenna, and Ronny Turiaf I would be ok with that. Add a free agent to fill out the roster and we have a decent team on our hands that can compete in the playoffs.

Save some money up hopefully for Melo, and we got ourselves a team.

    Lets hope for the best

  • Knicks4life

    Hopefully a draft pick.

That would make me feel much better about this awful trade.

  • bbrody1

    1. i love skip, hes a hater and haters are so much more entertaining than frontrunners
    2. honestly yo lee peace, dont give a f, if we get anything from u i’m good
    3. bron is silly
    4. yo seriously monta, atleast gimme something to watch if we’re gonna lose
    5. melo u were always my #1 make it happen
    5. parker i like u but i don’t really want u here if u get here somehow i’ll be happy but don’t need it
    6. amare’s been saying the right things, changed my mind a lil bit on him, good signing – and to anyone saying lee is better i wonder if u watch games or just go online and look at stats
    7. buike is ill but i wonder how he fits in with chandler and walker anddd landry fields (lol)
    8. walker is ill
    9. bron likes the taste of wade’s gooch
    10. monta-melo-gallo-amare-center
    11. kobe how my ass taste
    12. bron how my ass taste

  • barnaby8787

    Brandan Wright

  • barnaby8787

JJ’s is worse; Lee is right there though.

  • jarvis

More like the Knicks are dead. Wake me up in 50 years.

  • HaS

Nah, at least JJ plays 94 feet of the basketball court. _avi_ is a human turnstile.

  • barnaby8787

Since when are you from the hood? Fyi, we’re not getting monta and melo…keep lightin’ up man…i love these intelligent posts

  • barnaby8787

Yeah, but at least D-Lee doesn’t get booed by his own fans in his own arena for playing like a b****

  • fredweis

    Wow. Great deal.

Randolph, Turiaf & Azubuike are all quality rotation guys. Randolph may yet be better than D Lee.

Donnie has now added 3 players who averaged over 1 block a game last season to a team that had none. Well done.

    Need a PG now.

  • HaS

“Yeah, but at least D-Lee doesn’t get booed by his own fans in his own arena for playing like a b****”

    LOL touché.

_avi_ should have been getting booed though.

  • mel12

Yeahh full court press for Melo And CP3

  • bbrody1

never said we were i want monta tho, i don get this lee trade and how its so great we get a prospect, and two dudes with health issues

  • BiggieSmalls

isnt that what sports is though..

such is life.. now we move forward..

  • rjv3

Thanks for giving us something to cheer about during the last 5 years. Good luck in GS

  • nyknicks19

what is the purpose of building now?? the nba is completely ruined for the next decade…this is a catastrophe unlike sports have ever seen before…lebron james disgusts me as a human being….to give up such promise and settle for being a *piece* is truly ridiculous….walt frazier said it best “he took the easy way out”…i can guarantee kobe bryant is laughing and MJ (who we now know will never have to worry about the threat of lebron becoming the greatest) is disgusted

  • http://twitter.com/NYKConnoisseur Matty_Pickles

I love David Lee. He was such a good sport and worked so hard and deserves a good contract! It would have been nice to keep him but that deal was hard to pass up!

  • csenoner

big ups to david lee. he was a great player a hard worker and a good team player. he came in the league as a late 1st round pick, worked his butt off and got better every year.

thanks for the great year. we wont be like fans of other teams who dis players after they leave. he will always be loved in nyc.

  • asumets

dumbest comment I read in the last 3 months.

If you told me that we were getting Amare Stoudemire, Anthony Randolph and Mike Miller….every Knick fan would be lying if that wasn’t a major disappointment.

  • asumets

David Lee is one of my favorite Knicks of all time. Worked hard EVERY night. I hope he is huge in GS.

  • cms9675

Dude we just got a guy in turiaf that works just as hard as daved did throughout the years and he also blocks shots. I loved david on the knicks, but im happy with the direction of the team. I think we just got a lot deeper and we still have thirteen million to play with. Miami has three very talented players and no cap space to build around them. Shame. They will no what the knicks have gone through for a long, long time. In this league you need the flexibility of cap space or you’re done and it’s a slippery slope. With the talent that we got in this deal we should be jumping through the roof. I don’t know about you, but it seems like donnie is putting a lot of tough minded guys on the knicks. Turiaf, Amare, Gallo, Azabuke etc… I love what you’re doing Donnie!

  • cms9675

By the way lets see what david is really made of now that he is out there with all big guys out west. We all know how Amare did. If you guys think that David is better lets see him do what Amare did out there.

p.s. Amare is gonna rule out here in the east and he knows it!

  • BobbyFromBK

I’ll take Pritchard. Send the Old Man out to pasture.

  • Mal

I asked a couple of weeks ago what does everyone see in Turiaf, am I missing something, he seems like he is hurt all the time. What is he w/o shoes 6’9, no jumper, no handle, is he an enforcer?
I’d like a package getting Paul or Collison and bring Posey along as a rugged defender and 3-point shooter

  • Bsems

turiaf isnt the meat of this deal. He is simply a guy that has 100% motor all of the time.. has great post defense and great timing for blocking shots.. mysteriously enough though he struggle to get rebounds and he is known to be foul prone.

as a throw in on a randolph trade, im down with it. we needed a defensive stopgap in the paint and with randolphs length and shot blocking ability. we will be avg at best @ the center position instead of non existant. Turiaf, not sure about earl barron yet, amare in the speed lineup, and the rook jordan. Not great at all..but better than non existant.
