About Myles A. Mills

Myles is a sophomore at The Browning School, an all-boys private school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He's been a Knick fan as long as he can remember, and 02-03 was the last season he could remember in entirety. He hopes to one day see the Knicks in the playoffs. Myles is also fond of the Mets, and follows them vehemently, but his the bulk of his time goes to the Knicks. Myles wants to be a radio hosts on WFAN or ESPN 1050 radio, and he hopes to write for theknicksblog.com for years to come. View all posts by Myles A. Mills →

nope he wont be on PR nightmare

  • moderatethis

    Right move by the Knicks

  • PANAMANIANknicksFANsince91

I just read the news that the knicks signed Andy Rautins. What ever happened to Landry Fields? Haven’t heard anything about him in a while. Any idea…???

  • HaS

    Shooters take precedence.

He was selected first for a reason.

  • PANAMANIANknicksFANsince91

Right. It’s good to know that the roster is being structured with a plan. With priorities. We have some shooters, but I think that having a slasher that goes to the line a lot like Fields, can only help this team.
    I hope they keep him…

  • HaS

_’antoni’s plan is as transparent as can be.

  • moderatethis

how epic would it be if Dolan called Micheal Kay

  • PANAMANIANknicksFANsince91

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a MDA fan. I’m just liking the new roster. Hoping for a succesful season.

  • HaS

That might be the exact opposite of “epic”.

    Some Galo love from ESPN:
    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/news/story?id=5457763

It is true: with a real PG who can actually push the ball and make things happen, and a big man who is a 30 point threat every night and commands double deams, Galo will be getting the ball with space ALOTTTT more often. If he also improves his game individually, he could have an amazing season.

  • oscar f

Lets just hope Gallo is ready for the season because he will get a lot of wide open looks. I hope he is working hard on his game.

  • Jeff C

Somebody has to score harrington’s points right?

  • Jeff C

    I don’t doubt galo’s work ethic for a second.

  • oscar f

Off topic. What I never understood is why most bloggers feel as if AR can’t play the center position. People would say that he is too small and skinny. During the season everyone thought Camby would be a perfect 5 for the Knicks. How do you look at AR and not see a similarity with Camby. When Camby was a knick he was 6’11 220lbs and AR is 6’11 listed at 210 and repotedly put on 30lbs. They both have the same tenacity on D to block shots. I would guess that the coach would consider him an option at the 5 being that he generally plays the best 5 offensive players. You might think it’s crazy but those 2 are very similar and I can see AR doing similar things Camby did as a 5 in this league.

  • Old Knick

I was listening to this from the beginning via the internet and then it just went dead and it has been silent for about 15 minutes now. Still nothing. Maybe dolan cut my internet to the espn radio station???? Sheesh!!!

  • Chris Alvino

I think he can play center. Playing center is not only about bodying up with the opposing center. It is also about rebounding and defending the paint.

AR can create serious matchup problems with oppsosing centers, even if he is overmatched weight- and strength-wise.

  • oscar f

The kid has a 7’3 wing span. He might surprise this season.

  • Bloop33

He’d just say “The Um” the whole time.

  • PANAMANIANknicksFANsince91

I could not agree more. Gallo and Amare can complement each other.

  • Bloop33

The only things that can stop Randolph from getting busy this season are injuries and foul trouble.

  • Mucha

I don’t have insider. But I expect Gallinari to become a star in this league.

Having some open looks will definitely help Gallo, but I think he needs to touch the ball more than anything.

  • Mucha

Isn’t he working with Kobe Bryant’s trainer or something?

  • oscar f

    Yeah thats the word.

  • Mucha

Anthony Randolph is a GREAT help defender but I don’t think he can guard centers in the post like Marcus Camby. He’s too “fragile” at this point.

There are many similarities between AR and Camby – aggressiveness, shot-blocking ability, athleticism, size etc. but they are not similar. AR is a forward.

  • oscar f

What makes him a foward? How do you know how fragile he is? Have you seen him play center recently? I read he put on weight and while he is versatile like a 3 or 4 he is athletic enough to play 5. Camby never bodied up he used his lenght and athletic ability to play center’s and he did it when centers were bigger on average. You should really hold your judgment until you see him play again.

  • ds2488

I expect Gallo to have a BIG year. Between him, Randolph, and Chandler, 2 out of the 3 will really have to step up and be good 2nd and 3rd options.

  • Mucha

Don Nelson played him at center at one point during his sophomore season – complete failure. He’s just not strong enough to play center in my opinion.

  • oscar f

So that means he can’t get stronger and play the 5? I understand your doubt though. Don’t know why he wasn’t a better player in GS. He averaged 27pts,8.5rebs3blks2.2stls in summer league.

  • Mucha

I didn’t say that he can’t get stronger and play the five in the future. But he can’t play center today IMO and I think he’s more suited to play SF or PF.

  • blackwood

Yea to bad he could not shoot a lick all summer league! lol So what was signing him based on lol.

  • Boots

He hurt his shooting hand in the first half of the first summer league game. He nailed his first couple of shots, then hit his hand on the rim or board between the second and third finger trying to block a Coby Karl shot if i recall correctly. He wasn’t the same the rest of the SL. During the second game, after a missed shot, they cut to coach up in the stands and he was pointing to that spot on his hand while talking to the guy next to him.

Let’s see how he does in pre-season before we bury him.

  • Boots

Hopefully, now that the Knicks have a point guard who can pass the ball ahead on the break, Gallo will get the ball on the move and not always when he is pinned in the corner with the clock winding down.

Having a couple of other shooters will also help spread things out.

  • harris

Dolan didn’t want Isiah to come on the radio. Can’t blame Isiah on this. Dolan is such an embarrassment.

  • bob go knicks

does Landry Fields remind anyone of a poor mans Grant Hill?

  • bob go knicks

the only thing that is standing in the way of a great KNICK season Is Ill Will and Toney Douglass
