One of my biggest problem with Jamal Crawford is that he would work out and be in great shape but then he wouldn’t push his teamates like Eddy to work out with him.

That was the problem with having Steph, Jamal, and then David Lee as your best players. They weren’t like KG or MJ who would push those around them even in the offseason.

Amare looks like he is becoming that kind of leader. I love it. Gallo better get his a$$ back here.

Well the move is a risk. I’ve said that all along, but the worst offseason move . . .really?

So David Lee to GS is better than Amare?

I definitely dont agree with this… I think Joe Johnson is worse, and so is Beasley…

    But we will see…

“Gallo better get his a$$ back here”

Gallo better be good/in great shape WHEN he gets his a$$ back here IMO. Italy’s a different world and I can understand why he wants to stay with his family there – as long as he works hard – I mean he’s only 21 or 22 years old. But he better be fully committed to winning.

Oh yeah a vid of him and Mutombo has been circulating on the internet I believe,

  • NYsonnn

LOL…. yeah did u check the best newcomers ? .. bc amare is tied for 2nd with booz.. … everyone hates NY… always will.. who cares what people say… they sit around and talk and write about these guys for a living, they dont play, what do they know……

and im pretty sure that GSWrandolph account isnt really him… i think its one of the many fake accounts.

  • Aj

espn and their nonsense …they’re a bunch of idiots

  • Mucha

I think the award goes to :

    Drew Gooden

    Followed by :

    John Salmons
    Brandan Haywood
Joe Johnson (not immediately but his contract will hurt in 2, 3 or 4 years)

  • bigblue973

yea i cant help but be cautiously optimistic about this team, there is no reason why we should not win 40-45 games, and that’s only if we just meet expectations, if Gallo and the other young guys just improve even a little bit look out! I like our bench chandler randolph can start for some teams, our bench will win alot of games for us we need to watch last years suns team have a bench that can come in and just score crazy points

  • Mucha

    Beasley?

They gave up a f’in 2nd round draft pick for one of the most talented players in the NBA who’s still on his rookie contract.

  • Mucha

    ESPN = Useless.

  • verbal718

there has to be a bias with espn… all i read is negative stuff on the knicks… the amare signing was a very positive signing…. he is clearly an upgrade over D Lee & was a top 4-5 free agent available…

  • fauci933

Joe Johnson was technically not a newcomer, otherwise he would almost definitely be on that list. Amare is also tied for second on the Best Newcomer’s list I think, so it doesn’t really speak to much.

  • Tommy Dee

If gallo comes back with better balance and leg strength he’s going to have a monster year.

Last year he played well, seemingly, every other game, if he can play well in 3 out of 4…

  • avvocato

But if you look at ESPN’s Best Newcomers, Amar’e and Boozer tied for third. Go figure.

  • oscar f

What i got from that article is that the Knicks got the upper hand in the GS trade by recieving AR. Every where I read he is viewed as a steal and is respected as an up and coming talent.

  • Dylan

Maybe its just me, but I don’t have a problem with the ESPN list. It is the riskiest move. And its not like its just one guy giving his opinion. About 20% of the “experts” don’t think it will work out all that well. Thats not a very high number. Also, it said new comer, so thats why JJ wasn’t at the top. I think Lee should probably be closer to the top, but then again his expectations aren’t nearly as high as Amare and he isn’t making as much. Guys like Shaq and Beasely aren’t as high up on the list, because they aren’t making very much money. Can a minimum contract guy really be all that much of a disappointment. Also, Amare was tied for second place behind only LeBron for second best newcomer of the year. I don’t have a problem with either list.

  • BiggieSmalls

    “Donnie deserves and extention”

that’s just crazy talk.. win SOMETHING first..

i doubt he would take it for any other reason than to padding his retirement fund

  • ds2488

I trust Gallo’s work ethic. But you’re right, he better bring it when he gets back, or he’ll be on the outside looking in. Too many new acquisitions that seem to be working their tails off.

  • ds2488

Great to see people working out together. Like K4L said above, hopefully it’s just exemplary of Amare really taking on a leadership role.

  • CircleLimit4

This is good to hear but they need to carry that sentiment throughout the season. Knicks players were saying the same thing last year. It’s easy to keep this attitude up in the off season when there are no heart-breaking losses or complacency-enabling winning streaks.

  • NYsonnn

    2nd*

  • Mucha

… if he can play well in 3 out of 4 the Knicks will make the playoffs.

I assume that Gallinari’s been working hard in Italy, I love this kid. If he hasn’t he’ll probably lose his spot in the starting line-up anyways. The pressure is on him.

  • Mucha

Only time will tell, but I think it’s a good deal for both teams (in theory).

The Warriors needed production more than potential. The Knicks couldn’t afford to lose David Lee for nothing and they got one of the most special talents in the league in return.

  • blackwood

What would be a “monster year”?

  • HaS

Circle has become somewhat of a voice of reason lately, when he’s not sharpening his stand up comedian act (excelling at both I might add lol).

    No shots.

  • bob go knicks

    GALLO will rock your world

  • HaS

Hopefully he will “rock” the road.

And maybe a few couple 4th quarters.

    Cam’s always been the man

  • HaS

I hate Cam’Ron. He made a couple hot records though, but I never really liked his flow. When Ma$e was Murda Ma$e I think he was nicer than Cam.

  • ReaSonable DoubT

    My Prediction is probably about
    18ppg
    7 rpg
    6 apg

  • Mucha

Wow “hate”…? Cam’ron’s one of the best rappers in the game IMO. He’s probably my favorite rap artist since Nas fell off… Love his beat selection, his sense of humor, his “I don’t give a care” attitude, and he really has a great eye for talent (Araabmuzik’s my favorite producer alreadyy).

And his flow’s solid, I don’t know what the problem is…(?)

Check “I’m A Hustler Barry”, “Just Us”, “Drama”, “La Bomba”, “The Baddest”, “Lenox Ave”, “Get It In Ohio”, “Spend The Night”… His music been hot since he came back.
