    Who lol?

  • peeg

  • peeg

he played like 30 seconds a game for the nets I think

  • Citiboi12

    Yay Mo………….who??????

like seriously, what is MR MAGOO thinking.
nothin suprises me with DONNIE ALZY

  • Citiboi12

I read he was pretty decent with dallas but got traded to the nets in the jason kidd deal and really never played again afterwards for reasons I really don’t know.

  • DatNewYorker

I wanted Earl Barron. I don’t know why he has not been signed yet. He looked perfect for this system.

  • DatNewYorker
  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

sure looks good in highlights rite.
6mins a game for his career always got garbage time minutes, mayb MAGOO seen something in him like warming the seats

  • Citiboi12

Do ya’ll think he is there to maybe take walkers spot?

  • brookdon

Nice find but Maurice definitely wins the lamest highlight reel award.

  • Citiboi12

    LOL definitely

  • verbal718

do we even have an extra roster spot left?

maybe we signed him to our training camp roster. which is a non guaranteed spot. Doesn’t make much sense.

  • Boots

Probably a training camp make good contract with no guarantees.

  • HaS

His Scouting Report coming out of the draft looked impressive. Maybe he’ll reach his potential here.

  • Jayo

How long before half the people on the site start throwing Mo into trade packages for melo !? Lol

    Curry/TD/Walker/Mo/2 2nd round picks/Jordan for Melo …

Denver is desperate, they have to take it..

  • Mucha

    HaS?

    Is it you???

  • bob go knicks

now Chandler is the 3rd best 2 way player on the KNIcks aaaahhhhahhhhahhahhahhahhahahahahahahahaahaahh

  • HaS

    What?

I would have rather signed Gerald Green or a younger guy with more upside, but whatever. It’s not the most puzzling of moves by Donnie who’s had his share, but this is a guy to fill out the roster. There are about 10 guys still available that I would have rather taken a flier on though.

  • HaS

    They can’t be that desperate.

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

if he gets time i can see him winning 6th man of the year….PASS ME ANOTHER CUP OF KOOL AID PLEASE

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

there are rumors out there that if the knicks had AL chuckster denver would do a straight deal plus some cap fillers

  • brookdon

He can’t be traded until midseason, and Denver would laugh at us miserably if we called in with that offer.

  • Mucha

I thought he was a center

“Maybe he’ll reach his potential here” was kind of “surprising” from this perspective

  • dino2008

    hes being sarcastic.

  • Jayo

False …… Al can’t pack Melo’s lunch, well he’d pack it but he wouldn’t pass it to him.. Ziiiiing !!

  • brookdon

That’s what I thought but HaS answered it seriously and I followed suit

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

    that’s a 1on1 i would like to see.

  • ds2488

He was a pretty good college player if I remember correctly.

That leaves us with 1 roster spot I think, which I’m guessing is for Fields. That means Jerome Jordan and PE Jr. are out I guess.

  • ds2488

AGER. If he does this, he’ll be just fine lol.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCDSTO6R3ow&feature=related

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

i guess rautins burnin up the nets like roberson since he been got signed,,lmao…

  • dreamer3kx

    Youtube comment:

“this guy is ass why make a mix on him”

  • TG

    Whatever.

They haven’t signed Fields though (?)

  • HaS

Well that’s only if the Knicks trade for Carmelo otherwise I doubt he sees the floor much. I think I’d rather see Fields play than this guy (not that they play the same position).

  • SilentJay

I think it’s a signing for camp, nothing more. Like my own man used to say, he’s “just a body to keep the real players on their feet”.
The roster’s already stacked. Sort of like last years renowned Sun Yue.

  • SilentJay

It’s just a matter of time. I know SL play doesn’t really give you that much insight into a player’s game. Last year, Toney shot awful in SL and later on proved he had a nice shot.
I hope Fields is signed and gets minutes, though I think it’s doubtful. Rautins won’t see much either. Too many players, too short a rotation.

  • PipeDreamin

    christmas came early this year

  • HaS

    Good point.

  • HaS

    Probably a relative.

  • Mucha

I used to believe that Sun Yue could play in the NBA.

He played really well in the Olympics.

  • HaS

He would have made a serviceable backup to Turiaf I think he wanted more than the minimum last I heard.

  • Mucha

    Hahaha…

  • omegared536

    for what

  • harris

So they signed a guy who will serve as an extra body for training camp? Not a big deal, and not worth complaining about. No reason to knock Walsh for this-heck, if it was Isiah, he’d have probably signed the guy to a 4 year contract.

As for Fields, they’ll probably sign him. But if they don’t, it’s not exactly a devestating loss.

It was just 7 weeks ago that we were talking about LeBron James. Now we’re griping about Mo Ager, and the signability of Landry Fields. Yeeesh.

  • BrooklynsFinest1

That’s the sad point harris, we went from Lebron to Maurice Ager to fill out our roster. So how many players the Knicks have now like 20? I think we have the most backups signed to a team in the NBA.

  • bob go knicks

Wow!now Wilson Chandler is the 3rd best 2 way player on the Knicks Ha HaHaHAHAHAHA ahahahahahaa!!!!!

  • JeffM729

Here’s his D-League stats, 42% from three land is probably why he was signed.

    http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/index.jsp?player=maurice_ager

  • onemoretime

Will Isiah get any credit for this signing?

  • onemoretime

D’Antonis’ fascination with outside shooters is frightening.

  • JeffM729

Fields is probably asking for guaranteed money and a two year deal. I’m assuming Rautins and Ager signed a non-guaranteed one year deal at the minimum.

  • HaS

“I used to believe that Sun Yue could play in the NBA.

He played really well in the Olympics.”

This is why I think Rubio is all “hype” and Rudy could be garbage juice. The talent doesn’t always translate as well as the language.

  • danny7434

Maybe true. According to Biggie Carmelo is a slightly better version of Al anyway. pause.

  • DatNewYorker

Yes Has, i was thinking the same. I think he would of kept Randolph on the bench if he was signed. Walsh may have been thinking that he needs Randolph to grow. Barron can hit the mid range shot. When he played for us he looked confident with his shot and he rebounded well and played defense. Earl Barron would have been insurance if Randolph or Tariaf would get injured again this season. I don’t feel to confident in Tariaf and Randolph playing without injury. I think he will find his way back to Miami since Haslem did not follow B.I.G.’s 10 crack commandments. I still think it is a big mistake not signing Earl Barron.

  • HankNight

I agree. I thought Earl Barron looked very good last year if you projected him as a backup big for this year. What’s going on with him?

  • swtnes34

Training camp fodder! Just a practice body…

  • harris

Is there any doubt he was consulted on this one, given how invaluable he is to the organization as a talent evaluator?

  • fredweis

Ager was a stud at MSU, and Dallas was very high on him when they had him. So it’s a low risk, high potential reward signing. Also allows Donnie to use Bill Walker in trade conversations now since we have increased shooting depth.

But, obviously, the Knicks need to sign big men.

I think Earl Barron is still high on the Knicks list, but they don’t want to give him a guaranteed contract. I’d prefer someone who can play more physically and slide down to the 4.

I think Kwame Brown would be a great fit. He can make defensive stops in single coveredge and he’s an above avg passer in the high post.

I also wouldn’t mind “Veal” Scalabrine. He can stretch the D with his 3 pt range and plays very smart, hustle defense especially on rotations. His 4 NBA Finals appearances are also a big plus.

  • ds2488

Definite NO to Veal. He was so awful last year.

But I think Kwame Brown wouldn’t be a bad signing. I wonder what his asking price is?

I think I’d rather have Barron for cheaper than Kwame.

  • HaS

    LMAO @ signing Scalabrine.

    Je sus, Maria and Jose.

    No. Please. No.

^ What the fudge is going on around here?

  • MetsKnicksRutgers

    You wanna know why?

“sure looks good in highlights rite.
6mins a game for his career always got garbage time minutes, mayb MAGOO seen something in him like warming the seats”

Not saying you, but a lot of the posters on this site can’t even form a damn coherent sentence. P&T actually has real discussion, not just people spouting off their subjective opinion and then calling themselves “the truth” or some other nonsense without even backing up their claims with some solid evidence.

Scalibrine would be a worthless signing, I agree. This signing in particular is nothing but training camp as many have pointed out. Those complaining are akin to the same who complained over Roger Mason. Really? Whining and trashing Walsh cause he signed a guy to a 1 year deal? When Walsh signs a middle of the road SG to a 4-6 year deal then we can all start clamoring, but as of now all the guy has done is keep our options open while adding a pretty darn good big man to pair with another star. Adding Randolph and Buke on the cheap was icing on the cake for this off-season once Lebron didn’t sign.
