    Good D. No O.

  • Pavvy

i know there arent much highlights but he didnt play much due to ticky tack foul trouble- but he was effective when on the court.

ive included shots he altered and some moves he made that needs some polishing!!

that last shot looked like it went in – and he started goin back to defense like he just scored!

he got blocked bad once when he went up weak for a left hand layup on a post move- thats his weaknesss!! i didnt include that though

  • BelieveTheDream

i watched this live and like i said he looked like he has some solid skills..especially some that will fit our system, Is he a it raw yes but he is real good with the pick and roll, running up and down the floor and blocking shots, he needs to work on post moves and boxing out..

  • Pavvy

hes not the best rebounder but for a man his size he does seem to come out on the perimeter and contest a lot of 3pointers as you see in the video!!

that 1 time he had his face on turkoglu when he was goin to shoot a 3 was real effective

  • Citiboi12

Nice vid.At the beginning when I was listening to the anthem I couldn’t help but think “I MUST BREAK U” LOL

  • traps9

At 15-20 mins a night, like Ronny, I think he could really provide some help. He’ll actually earn his money in year two, if he does. It’ll be an interesting angle to watch, especially in 2011.

  • HaS

This guys is not better than Darko, I have a hard time seeing him getting playing time for the current “coach”.

  • blackwood

I will say it again Magoo should reach out to John Thompson Sr and make him a special assistant running big man training for Mozgov,AZ and all the other bigs even Amare. He would really help develop and polish there defensive game as well as there rebounding and over all fundamentals. I mean his track record speaks for its self Ewing,Alonzo & mutombo!

  • HankNight

What about a trying to get Patrick Ewing Sr. in here as an assistant to work with our big men. Good for the big men, good for karma.

  • blackwood

I would be for it but he has a job already and I dont know why but there seems to be some kind of resistance from the org on bring Ewing back. But if u cant get the the player get the guy who helped build that player among others.

  • knicks613

    pavvy,
    that is awesome.
thank you for your special effort!!

i don’t get espn3, fibatv defaults to espn3, and have been scouring for some highlights.
how about game one where his #’s looked a lot better.
he looks like a great working project.
i look f/w to seeing his energy and skills.
i gotta believe he will work hard in nyc.

  • spilatch

hey if he ends up as a theo ratliff type of player, i’d be happy

  • johneco

You think someone who is averaging 15 mins, 2r, 7p as a substitute center for Russia is going to play 20 mins per in the NBA?

  • johneco

    That’s very generous of you.
Ratliff averaged roughly a double double per 36, with 3.5 blocks! Over a 15 year career!

I’ll be positively surprised if Mozgov can play a total of 200 minutes this year.

He is tall and mobile though, maybe he can develop…

  • harris

This guy has probably been shown in more highlights during the last month than any other 11th man in the history of the NBA.

    TKB-all Mosgov, all the time.

  • Dave the Rave

I agree with HaS, Moz is not better than Darko the fish. Moz may be more aggressive but his body looks weak, he is wobbly on his feet, he will get eaten alive by athletic big men, and we have seen dozens of big soft white dudes like him come and go over the years. Remember Tom Riker?

  • Pavvy

im uploading them as we speak– it may not be the best quality but you can still see his highlights including that big block on the 7’4 guy

  • harris

“And we have seen dozens of big soft white dudes like him come and go over the years”

Why is his color a relevant factor in assessing his abilities? We have seen plenty of “soft black dudes” come and go also-have you watched Eddie Curry play over the last three years? Color should have absolutely nothing to do with evaluating what kind of NBA player Mosgov will be. If the guy’s a stiff, he’s a stiff.

  • HaS

“What about a trying to get Patrick Ewing Sr. in here as an assistant”

Are the Dolans selling the team?

  • HaS

    He’s a stiff.

Right now he is that is. I think he can become a defensive force, but I’m just not convinced that is a priority for this “coach” enough for him to play consistently next year.

    We’ll see.

  • ds2488

    anyone’s better than Darko imo

  • bob go knicks

yes thats what the knicks need…a 90 year old coach

  • PickNY

Whatever minutes Mos get will help in his NBA developmental stage! We can always use another big! Never know when it comes to having key players getting hurt or in foul trouble and he does have SIX fouls that can be use:)

  • harris

LOL. That about sums it up!

  • blackwood

not sure if ur having a reading issue bob but i think I made it clear he would be for the off season development of the teams bigs.

Lol u have an issue with a “90″ year old coach but not a 100 year old GM huh? you really are pretty silly some times bob.

  • TG

I have no idea why they picked this guy up. Looks like a really bad move.

  • Dave the Rave

I agree, stiffs of all colors come and go and I should not judge by color, but most of us tend to categorize players based on who they remind us of. I meant no harm. Moz’s skill’s are suited for a lower league, just look at his stats and the level of competition he’s played against, but I hope he proves me wrong. So far, he has not shown that he is an Arvydas Sabonis. What did they sign him for? $9M? Crazy, man!

  • ScottD

Obviously, the Knicks front office sees something in Mozgov that they feel can be developed, and they are getting paid to assemble the team while we sit here and blog as armchair quarterbacks, why not give the guy an opportunity to show what he can do in the NBA.
The deal isn’t guaranteed for three years from what i’ve read.
It’s also been said that if other teams knew that Mozgove was considering coming over here there would have been more competetition to sign him, and that he would have been considered to be one of the two top European prospects.

All the above aside, of course he could end up being a stiff, but then again, only time will tell…

  • HaS

Only _’antoni fans could actually look at Mozgov and Darko play and not think Milicic is the better player. He’s a better jumpshooter, the better offensive player and he blocks shots at a high rate as well. He also has NBA experience already.

Oh yeah and they’re one year apart in age, so if Mozgov can get better I think Darko could conceivably improve also.

  • Pavvy

hey guys these are the highlights of mozgovs first game vs puerto rico where he played much better – monster block at the end
