Deron Next?

The Nuggets and new vice president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri, just introduced Tuesday to the local media, are not close to announcing a Carmelo Anthony trade.

Sorry to disappoint again: Anthony isn’t even on the market.

Not yet, anyway…The Nuggets can do nothing to prevent the future of Anthony – along with Chris Paul and Deron Williams (“I have a feeling he’s next for all these trade stories,” one Western Conference team official said of D-Will) – from becoming the new season’s sidebar obsession to the actual basketball. But they can tell teams that call about Anthony that they’re not ready to discuss potential Melo trade scenarios.

Let the CP3-D-Will debate begin…

d-will’s barber wins over all lol

  • Chapzilla

DWill + illWill = NBA championship

  • Chapzilla

    Weak 1st

  • Brookdon

    Deron Williams Career Numbers

    16.2 PPG 9APG 3.1 RBS 1Stl 46.7 FG 36.1 3′s Percentage 79.9 FT

    Chris Paul
    19.3 PPG 10APG. 2.4 STL 47.3 FG 35.3 3′s 84.8 FT percent

Chris Paul is much better IMO.

Carmelo as free agent, trade for D Will.

  • Knicks4life

Talk about a manufactored story. A western conference GM aparently sarcastically says “I bet DWill rumors will start flying next” and then becomes an ESPN story and a post here to spark a Williams debate?

    Gotta love the offseason.

But the most important piece of that story to me was that Melo is not on the market right now. Which is what I’ve been thinking for months. It makes no sense for Denver to trade him unless they are getting multiple draft picks and a proven all-star. They won’t lose Melo for nothing, wherever he goes that team will do a sign and trade and likely give up draft picks because Melo will want the most money possible.

  • J_Starks3

    Oh lord noooooo!!!!!!

Stop with these potential free agents. I like Alvinos article about this current roster.

  • Knicks4life

I think CP3 is slightly better but the numbers don’t tell the story with D Will. His Utah’s teams have been consistently very good to great and outside of Boozer (who is always hurt) he wasn’t exactly playing with a stellar cast.

He is playing for one of the greatest coaches to ever teach the game though.

Give me whoever is healthier at the time and I will be more than happy.

  • BJabs

Deron Williams is the perfect player for this Knicks team. Absolutely perfect.

I can’t say he’s a better player than Paul, but I just love the idea of him being a Knick..more than I love the idea of CP3 becoming a Knick.

But Williams, from the looks of it, wants to become a Maverick..not a Knick. We know CP3 wants NY. So we’ll give him NY. :)

  • DVJ

    “I can’t say he’s a better player than Paul,”

    I can

  • traps9

    Oh, God. Here we go…

  • moderatethis

Paul is better numbers don’t lie and he makes the game look so easy.

  • BJabs

I guess it’s debatable. And it depends on how much you value defense. and swagger. and even clutchness too maybe. and injury history.

    D. Will has swag. He’s a calm, cool, ferocious player. He never folds. He always fights. He can handle anything and everything. He’s perfect for New York. Just like Amar’e.

  • PickNY

    Knick4BS,

Stop smoking that crack pipe! Denver has NO leverage because Melo is NOT going to sign any extension unless it’s NY! And I’m sipping on some smooth kool-aid!

  • PickNY

Fellas, it doesn’t matter on whose better! Why? Because they both got game! Dumba** kiddie debate. Grow up gents and stop acting like lil kids. My toy is better than yours! Wow!

  • ds2488

lol, you telling people to stop acting like little kids is funny for some reason. Don’t know why…

  • ds2488

Ridiculous, but like K4L said above this is the offseason.

Anyway, I enjoyed the Post article today about Toney Douglas and apparently how everyone is working out together now. That’s very nice, it should help the team chemistry a lot.

  • PickNY

This comparing oranges to apples is just based on preference! So who cares! We got Ray Ray! Ha!

  • bb_dot

yeah, I liked that article too. All I want is to see these guys come out and play with some urgency. I have grown so wary of all the pre-season talk over the past years claiming how good this or that player works out and how the team believes that they will be so much better this year. Hopefully this time it’s for real and they put their money where their mouths are…

  • http://www.youtube.com/tharealest62qb DaGawD_KnowLedge

this is going krazy, rondo is next then rose, lmao.

  • PickNY

Chemistry is always important to know each other strong & weak areas to work on! Reminds me of the good old days! Ok enough with the dreaming. TD got his work cut out to be one all he can be. Look how Rondo turn out. TD will gain his team mates respect for sure can go a long ways when he might have to get in someone a** for slacking!

  • PickNY

Lil dog stop trippin! Not Rondo too!

  • Dylan

Yup. Maybe John Wall will demand a trade soon lol!

  • fauci933

How exactly is this comparing apples to oranges? Comparing two star PG’s at the top of their game? Sounds like comparing apples to apples to me.

Comparing a C and a PG could be described as apples and oranges.

I get what you’re saying that they’re both good and would be great wherever they went, but it’s by no means apples and oranges.

  • BiggieSmalls

you know Amar’e had an infamous blow up with the PHX media after the Suns lost a few back?

he cant get away with storming away and not answering questions in NYC.

  • Old Knick

    @BJabs
“He’s perfect for New York. Just like Amar’e.”

Only problem with that train of thought is Amare wanted to come to NY, Deon wants to go to Dallas. Sometimes the truth hurts!

  • KnickFan4Life

D-Will actually seems happy in Utah. Yes I said that. Happy in Utah. lol. But hey if Sloan leaves who knows…

  • KnickFan4Life

Better I would say yes. But not much better. Some might even give D-will the edge since he’s a little bigger and has not had the injury issues…

  • KV

Dwill is unhappy…he has been on my radar…..guards his size play at high level for many years…..ala kidd and nash…i respect his game and he should leave Utah if he plans on making a finals trip in his career.

  • KnickFan4Life

I honestly have not heard anything about him being unhappy out there. But you are right about him not being able to win a title there. Utah is a classic example of a team that is stuck in that good enough to be a playoff team but not good enough to be a championship team rut…
