Let’s see Moz against some real competition before projecting minutes for him. If he plays the US in the world championship we’ll see what level he’s at. I hope that game is on tv.

  • Sharp Elbow

So you’ll be able to evaluate him off that one game. What’s the difference? I think most us have watched all the clips, understand he moves very well for his size, and can probably provide some limited inside toughness. DW must agree with us. Why would he pay him so much? I just hope ‘antoni does. Sadly, I see him playing a small line up most of the time.

  • Dave the Rave

“So you’ll be able to evaluate him off that one game.”

Better than no games against NBA studs. No?

  • Dave the Rave

    Didn’t DW draft Jordan Hill?

  • ScottD

The way Mozgov moves,(very fluid for a guy who is 7’1″), I wouldn’t be suprised if D’antoni found some minutes for him.
I think it’s going to be more a question of aptitude, and a rookie learning curve.

  • Knicks4life

The problem is Mosgov will slow down the offense other than pick and rolls. D’Antoni loves a fast paced game.

Other than Shaq I don’t remember D’Antoni ever give a traditional big man minutes. And in all the highlights I have seen of Mosgov I have not seen much passing. That is also a critical D”Antoni factor.

Remember this is the guy who started Boris Diaw and Jarred Jeffries at Center.

  • BiggieSmalls

i the Azubuike injury is a larger issue than is being made of it.

I predicted that he wouldnt be ready for the season and it was recently confirmed that he wont he participating in camp.

i cant stand to watch Chandler dribble off his feet and emulate Buckets in the passing department at the 2 guard.

Mozgov will slow the offense down far less than Jarred Jeffries IMO. If he can pick and roll, run the floor, play D and get garbage buckets that’s all we really need.

  • flossy

If that’s true we can start Mason at the 2 until he recovers if that’s a better option than Chandler. Mason started plenty of games with the Spurs a couple of years ago. He’s not a world beater but he’s perfectly capable.

  • traps9

Funny, I thought I was the only one who doesn’t have a boner for Chandler.

  • harris

Mosgov? Anyone know where I can find some video footage of this guy? Never heard of him.

  • Pavvy

    are you kidding????

  • Pavvy

i dont think he will slow down offense as he can run the floor up and down and loves the pick and roll!!

  • BrooklynsFinest1

This is why some fans need to temper their enthusiasm on this season because there is too many question marks on this team. If the teams in the East all play up to their capablities we are a 7th or 8th seed. Everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves and if Mosgov helps the team than so be it. If not then he will be on the bench it doesn’t effect the team either way. The worst is if Amare goes down and if so for any length of time. We have nobody to fill those shoes.

  • gianthinker

I’m looking forward to seeing how Mozgov looks against more NBA players. I love his body control and what appears to be a fierceness most European players seem to lack. Seeing him have to go against a few NBAers would be valuable to see exactly where he stacks up with our competition. The European guys he can beat by pushing out of the way or running around/by them are one thing. American style players who bump hard and play D is another. I certainly dont expect him to be a monster by any means but I do think he’ll be okay against top competition. I’d think he’d play like a typical young big man would and struggle a bit but show flashes. He should get a few minutes a game as long as he can take the pounding of an NBA schedule.

  • Dave the Rave

Bottom line is, the Knix need to get a superstar 2 guard next year. Whoever they play at the 2 this year is just a temp filler piece. Maybe Azubuike will be the man in the 2nd half of the season. Wilson is no guard.

  • Sharp Elbow

    He’s kidding.

  • BrooklynsFinest1

Smh we went from All Star bound talent in AR to hoping Mosgov can contribute as much as he can to the team. This is a slow offseason. From waiting after Lebron was knocked out of the playoffs for free agency and then go through free agency to all the rumors trade wise I can’t wait to start the season.

  • HaS

“The way Mozgov moves,(very fluid for a guy who is 7’1″), I wouldn’t be suprised if D’antoni found some minutes for him.”

He couldn’t find minutes for this guy:

  • HaS

Maybe if Amar’e goes down we’ll get to see more of Randolph in extended minutes and he can develop his game. Plus _’antoni probably ends up fired in that scenario. Perfect.

Just kidding. About the first 5 words anyway lol.

  • HaS

He’ll be in foul trouble the whole game.

  • BiggieSmalls

thats what you get from this crew..

a lot of posters had the knicks winning 40 games last year.

  • BiggieSmalls

    such a shame.

  • bob go knicks

Chandler is THE most overated Knick

  • ds2488

lol. Get over it HaS. It’s Darko freaking Milicic. It sounds more like you have a “massive mancrush” on Darko than anything else.

Although that move was pretty sweet. Too bad he could never do that with any level of consistency. There’s a reason why he’s been on so many different teams in so many years, and why he’s ended up on Kahn’s twolf team now, and it’s not just Dantoni’s fault.

  • bob go knicks

IM PUMPED for the upcoming season.I just spent 1000.00 for 5 games(2 seats)Good Seats. If no major injuries occur,i think the knicks will win 45 games.(anymore kool-aid out there?)

  • bob go knicks

BUIKE’will be playing full time by mid november

  • Mucha

The Detroit Pistons destroyed what could’ve been a very good NBA career.

  • ds2488

What are you talking about Mucha? It’s all Dantoni’s fault. C’mon now, you Dantoni lover.

  • moderatethis

Everyone is always complaining about Chandler at the 2 shut up about it already, no one has seen him play since last season he could have gotten a lot better lets see what he looks like before you dump on him.

  • HaS

    LOL

Nah, I just think this Mozgov guy is getting wildly overrated and penciled in to contribute when I really don’t see him getting valuable minutes here. Maybe Darko wasn’t a pick and roll player and that’s why _’antoni didn’t play him, but that’s the only reason I can see why the guy didn’t get a fair shot. It wouldn’t be the first time the “coach” made a lineup decision based strictly on offense.

“The Detroit Pistons destroyed what could’ve been a very good NBA career.”

Larry Brown isn’t the best guy to bring a rookie along is he? LOL

To be fair, I think Darko needed a lot of coddling, but people forget he was only what, 20? He’s only just turned 25 this summer!

_’antoni hasn’t proven to be the best at managing egos/personalities, a necessity for any championship coach. I hope Mozgov gets a shot.

  • Jeff C

Haha it takes leaving the knicks for HaS like a player. BTW darko has never been good in the NBA, ever.

  • itzyung1

“Nah, I just think this Mozgov guy is getting wildly overrated and penciled in to contribute when I really don’t see him getting valuable minutes here. ”

Nobody is even rating him all we are doing is looking at videos and hoping we can see him contribute in the NBA.

  • Mucha

Larry Brown and Larry Saunders didn’t understand how Milicic needed to be treated. He needed A LOT of coddling and some PT, he was only 18 years old!

    What a waste of talent.

  • HaS

“Haha it takes leaving the knicks for HaS like a player.”

Not sure what that means, because I don’t like Rautins and Maozgov I don’t like any Knick players?

    LMAO

  • BiggieSmalls

People are writing him in as a big cotnributor and a MAJOR offseason acquisition which is just silly.

there’s a reason this guy was never drafted and the Russian owner of the Nets passed.

  • BiggieSmalls

he’s been recovering from his usual off season surgery.

  • itzyung1

Who? From what I have read nobody has said that. And The Nyets didn’t get him because they have Brook Lopez. He’s most likely have gotten better since the draft anyway.
